By KRWG News, March 03, 2016

Residents of New Mexico's Bootheel and parts of southern Arizona say human smuggling and drug trafficking is taking its toll on the region.

The Deming Headlight reports that residents are scheduled Thursday to express their concerns to federal officials during a meeting at the Animas Community Center in Animas, New Mexico.

Judy Keeler, a longtime resident of the rural border region, says her home was recently burglarized and it's not an unusual episode for other residents.

Trump: I Don't Need To Be Lectured

July 19, 2015 USA Today

John McCain has called his own constituents who want a secure border “crazies.”  No one in the news media or the establishment, including the Republican National Committee, criticized the senator for those comments.

Now, as respected reporter Sharyl Attkisson has proved point by point, the news media are also distorting my words. But that is not my point. McCain the politician has failed the state of Arizona and the country.

"F--k That Puto": George Lopez Leads Crowd In Anti-Trump Chant

July 19, 2015 Inquisitr.com

Comedian George Lopez was able to take his feelings about Donald Trump to brand new heights during a recent show in Arizona.

Instead of just voicing his own opinions from the stage, the 54-year-old actor was able to get the crowd to send a loud message to Donald Trump through chanting loudly in unison.

“F**k that puto!”

After the chant, George Lopez was able to add his own two cents with a brief statement about the effect that Latinos have had on the United States of America.

“This country is better with Latinos in it.”

The Spanish word “puto,” according to the Urban Dictionary, can be translated as “male prostitute.” According to the definition, it is also “used for cowards and traitors.”

DRUG BUNDLES BLOCK PIPE NEAR BORDER, SEND SEWAGE INTO HOME

By Astrid Galvan July 7, 2015, Associated Press

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities in the border city of Nogales, Arizona, believe smugglers were using an international sewage line to transport drugs into the U.S. from Mexico when the pipe became clogged, sending gallons of waste through an illegal tunnel and into a house and local businesses.

City officials discovered waste coming out of the house near the border with Mexico on Sunday. City Manager Shane Dille said there was so much waste that it was oozing from the front door and side of the house.

The international pipeline runs through Nogales, Arizona, and Nogales, Sonora, and carries 10 million gallons of waste each day, Dille said. It was connected to a tunnel that led to a house on a Nogales street near the border.

Sheriff Joe’s Got Trump’s Back

By WND, Jul. 2, 2015

In a radio interview recorded Thursday, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio backed up some of Donald Trump’s remarks about illegal immigrants while defending the real estate moguls’ “right to voice his opinion.”

Arpaio stated, “There’s no lie about the drugs coming from Mexico.”

“Everybody knows that,” he said. “I talk about it all the time. The majority of the drugs coming into my county, they are from Mexico. So that’s a true statement.”

Arpaio further asserted his belief that Trump did not mean “to say anything derogatory about all the great people from Mexico.”

The outspoken sheriff said it was “amusing to see all the heat because [Trump] made a few statements.”

“And I presume he is not going to back down. I would imagine he is going to continue to voice his opinion,” Arpaio said.

The famous sheriff was being interviewed for “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia’s NewsTalk 990 AM.

Supreme Court Throws Out Arizona, Kansas Voter ID Appeal

By Christian Datoc, Jun. 29, 2015, Daily Caller

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a joint-appeal from Arizona and Kansas on Monday that would have allowed the states to require applicants to show proof of citizenship while registering to vote.

In throwing out the case, SCOTUS uphold a Nov. 2014 ruling by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, stating that the Election Assistance Commission — the federal agency overseeing changes to states’ voter registration processes — was, “not required to grant the states’ request that proof of citizenship be added to registration requirements,” reports Reuters. The court believed that the federal registration form — requiring applicants to swear they are citizens under the threat of perjury — was a sufficient safe-guard against voter fraud.

Arizona Sheriff Sending Armed Posse Into Black Churches

AP Photo/Ross D. Franklin
By EJ Montini, Jun. 20, 2015, USA Today

PHOENIX — A sheriff on trial, accused of harassing some members of a minority community, will send armed volunteer posse members into 60 black churches Sunday in response to the racially motivated attack in South Carolina earlier this week.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who already is under federal supervision because of a ruling two years ago that his office racially profiled Hispanics in its traffic and immigration patrols, is scheduled to go to trial in August in a separate lawsuit alleging additional discrimination against Latinos.

He said the Rev. Jarrett Maupin, who describes himself as a Progressive Baptist preacher and civil-rights campaigner on his Facebook page, asked him to provide the protection because he was worried about problems with white supremacists in the area.

"I am the elected sheriff of this county. He asked me to help, and I'm going to help," Arpaio said Friday.

Sheriff Arpaio Invites Rev. Al Sharpton To Undergo Use Of Force Scenario

Troy Hayden, Jan. 9, 2015, Fox 10 News

Rev. Jarrett Maupin went from leading a protest against police to walking a mile in their shoes, taking part in a shoot/don't shoot scenario with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he wants to spread the message even further, by inviting what some say is the highest profile, minority-rights leader in the country to go through the same scenarios, Rev. Al Sharpton.

Suspect In Police Killings Had Multiple Identities

Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte / Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
By Elliot Spagat, Oct. 27, 2014, Ap.org

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The man accused in a shooting rampage that left two sheriff's deputies dead and a motorist seriously wounded was living in the United States illegally. He had been convicted in Arizona for selling drugs and deported to Mexico twice.

Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte's background almost certainly should have flagged him for expulsion again. But he appeared to be living quietly with his wife in a suburb of Salt Lake City until his arrest Friday after the shootings in Northern California.

Investigators were trying to determine how he avoided scrutiny.

The man arrested on Friday said he was 34-year-old Marcelo Marquez of Salt Lake City when he was taken into custody, but his fingerprints matched biometric records of Monroy-Bracamonte in a federal database, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Virginia Kice said. He was first removed from the country in 1997 after a conviction for possession of drugs for sale in Arizona, then arrested and repatriated to Mexico again in 2001.

Calif Loses One Of World's Largest Manufacturers To Anti Gun Politics

By Leisa Crawford, Oct. 5, 2014, Misguidedchildren.com

ProMag Industries, one of the world’s largest firearm magazine manufacturers has relocated from California to Arizona.

California an Anti 2nd Amendment State

ProMag Industries, General Manager, Mike Kurvink, explains the decision to relocate was based on California’s anti-second amendment political environment and the proliferation of restrictive gun manufacturing legislation.

In an effort to control their citizens’ right to bear arms, California legislators have hammered away at the firearms manufacturing industry by passing laws that amplify and redefine the specifications of a gun magazine. If the politicians in California cannot directly impede the sale of guns in the state, they will control them through legislation that makes it difficult if not impossible to manufacture.

Arizona a Constitutional Carry State

One of the reasons the owners of ProMag selected Arizona as the site for relocation was that they are a constitutional carry state. Meaning, it is legal for the citizens of the state to carry a fire arm without requiring a permit.

SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO: Our Country Is Under Attack & Obama Is The Aggressor – 'He Is Rewarding Criminals'

Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio
By Jim Hoft, Aug. 25, 2014, Thegatewaypundit.com

Our country is under attack.

And Barack Obama is the aggressor. That’s right. Our own President has overseen the release of thousands of illegal immigrants…hundreds of whom are convicted criminals – even felons, which are flooding into America.

Every day you read the newspaper or turn on the news, there is something tragic happening, something Obama says is beyond our control.

But I must tell you: the state of the U.S. – Mexican border IS NOT BEYOND OUR CONTROL. In fact, it’s one of the key places where the safety of our nation starts. AND I am working around the clock to take criminals off the streets. Will you support my reelection campaign with a $15 or more donation right now?

Every action Obama has taken since the border crisis began has led to an increase in the flood of men, women, children, AND CRIMINALS! The icing on the cake…Obama’s solution is holding events at the White House “honoring young adults who came to this country illegally.”

HE IS REWARDING CRIMINALS! We are arresting them just to have the Obama administration release them the next day!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio
By Joshua Rhett Miller, Jun. 1, 2014, Foxnews.com

A Chicago Public Schools test question that had seventh-graders read anti-immigration commentary by a fictitious Bush administration official and conservative writer whose name sounds like controversial Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio has been scrubbed from the curriculum — and officials say the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

The nation’s third-largest school district pulled the question from its online database earlier this month after a total of 32 seventh-graders from two classes took the REACH Performance tests, which are administered to measure student growth and teacher effectiveness. This particular version of the exam asked students to compare the authority of differing opinions on immigration, including one written by "Arie Payo."

“I think it’s best to keep America for Americans and those who know how to speak English properly,” it reads. “Save America for those of us who know how to behave in law-abiding ways.”

Undocumented immigrants, according to the text, should “go back to where they came from,” continues the text by Payo, who is identified as a former aide to “President Bush’s Immigration Taskforce” and a contributor to the nonexistent “Conservative Journal.”

CPS spokesman Joel Hood confirmed to FoxNews.com Wednesday that the question had already been scrubbed from its database and insisted the “Arie Payo” character was not created with Arpaio in mind, despite being near-homonyms.

“The ‘author’ of this blog post is completely fictitious and any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental,” Hood wrote in an email.

That explanation, however, didn’t exactly move Arpaio or an immigration advocate reached by FoxNews.com.

Migrants are released from ICE custody
at a Greyhound Bus station in Phoenix May 28, 2014.

By Daniel Gonzalez, May 30, 2014, Azcentral.com

Scores of undocumented immigrants from Central America have been released at Greyhound Lines Inc. bus stations in Tucson and Phoenix over the past several days after they were flown to Arizona from south Texas, officials acknowledged.

Andy Adame, a spokesman for the Border Patrol in Tucson, confirmed that over the weekend federal officials flew about 400 migrants apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to Tucson to be processed. He said the migrants were flown to Arizona because the Border Patrol does not have enough manpower to handle a surge in illegal immigrants in south Texas.

The release has drawn criticism from those on both sides of the immigration issue.

Border enforcement groups are concerned that the migrants will now disappear into the U.S., spurring even more to come illegally.
