Police recover gun from Zimmerman, 2 guns from other man

ORLANDO, Fla. • Police officers recovered a handgun from George Zimmerman and took two guns from a man accused of shooting at Zimmerman while both were driving, authorities said Tuesday.

Police also released a 911 call in which the caller says the other man, Matthew Apperson, told him he was forced to fire his gun Monday at the former neighborhood watch leader on a busy street in the Orlando suburb of Lake Mary.

"A guy says he had to shoot a guy through the window and he wants the police to come," the man said on the call. "He had to shoot at somebody ... He said it was George Zimmerman."

Zimmerman suffered minor injuries from flying glass and debris.

Two guns were taken from Apperson's car, including a revolver that had a spent shell casing. Police officers will also execute a search warrant on Zimmerman's pickup truck, said Lake Mary Police Officer Bianca Gillett.

Both men had the guns legally.

Detectives are still investigating and no charges have been filed against Zimmerman or Apperson. She said the investigation could take time. Documents released Tuesday show that detectives are investigating the shooting as a possible aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

What About Baltimore's Black on Black Murders?

Former Baltimore cop Peter Moskos understands the anger over Freddie Gray’s death, but he wishes there were a little more outrage over the deaths of men like Kareen George, Andre Hunt and Tierell Wilder.



The three men are among the 74 black people murdered this year — as of Sunday — in Baltimore, as listed on The Baltimore Sun’s homicide page. Their murders — and the vast majority of the city’s 83 overall homicides this year — have generated no protests, rioting or mass uproar, unlike the death of Gray, 25, who died last month of spinal injuries while in police custody.

So who killed those 74 people? In all likelihood, other black people. 

A 2010 Bureau of Justice Statistics report shows that most murders are intraracial: From 1980 to 2008, 93 percent of black homicide victims were killed by other blacks, while 84 percent of the white victims were killed by other whites.

What frustrates Mr. Moskos and others is that the lopsided focus on police-caused deaths has obscured a far deadlier threat to the black community, namely black-on-black homicide.

Police: George Zimmerman involved in Florida shooting

(CNN) George Zimmerman -- acquitted by a Florida jury over the death of Trayvon Martin -- was involved in a shooting in Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday, police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett said.

Zimmerman apparently suffered a minor gunshot wound, CNN affiliate WESH-TV reported, citing the police chief.

The affiliate spoke with one witness, Ricardo Berrare, who also said Zimmerman's injuries didn't look serious.

"He walked normally into the ambulance, so he wasn't being helped or nothing," Berrare told WESH.

The shooting is under investigation, but it appeared to be some type of road rage incident, Gillett told CNN.

Police said there were no fatalities in the shooting and said the department would not release additional information until a briefing planned for Monday afternoon.

It is the latest headline-grabbing incident for Zimmerman since his acquittal in July 2013 on a murder charge in the death of Martin, a 17-year-old African-American.

Zimmerman fatally shot Martin on February 26, 2012.

On that day, Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain in Sanford, Florida, called 911 to report "a suspicious person" in the neighborhood.

He was instructed not to get out of his SUV or approach the person, but Zimmerman disregarded the instructions. Moments later, neighbors report hearing gunfire.

Zimmerman was pulled over for speeding in northern Texas in July 2013, a few weeks after he was acquitted of Martin's death.

'Racial' Cop Stories That Didn't Make The Cut By Larry Elder

In 2012, according to the CDC, 140 blacks were killed by police. That same year 386 whites were killed by police. Over the 13-year period from 1999 to 2011, the CDC reports that 2,151 whites were killed by cops -- and 1,130 blacks were killed by cops.

Police shootings, nationwide, are down dramatically from what they were 20 or 30 years ago. The CDC reported that in 1968, shootings by law enforcement -- called "legal intervention" by the CDC -- was the cause of death for 8.6 out of every million blacks. For whites the rate was was .9 deaths per million.

By 2011, law enforcement shootings caused 2.74 deaths for every million blacks, and 1.28 deaths for every million whites. While the death-by-cop rate for whites has held pretty steady over these last 45 years, hovering just above or below the one-in-a-million level, the rate for blacks has fallen. In 1981, black deaths by cop stood at four in a million, but since 2000 has remained just above or below two in a million.

So what's driving this notion that there is now an "epidemic" of white cops shooting blacks when in the last several decades the numbers of blacks killed by cops are down nearly 75 percent?

Where's the evidence suggesting race had anything to do with the death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice in Cleveland, who was pointing a pellet gun at bystanders before being shot and killed by police?

What's the racial nexus to the death of Eric Garner, the large, obese man who died after being taken down by several NYPD cops?

While the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case became another racial thermometer of America, the jury found Zimmerman not guilty, and several jurors later said that during jury deliberations "race never came up."

The Ferguson, Missouri, shooting of Michael Brown by officer Darren Wilson is yet another case where there is absolutely no evidence that whatever happened occurred because of Michael Brown's race. Did officer Wilson display racial animus? Does anyone know if this officer Wilson had some racist background? With the desire by media for a scalp, such information would have long ago been made public by somebody.

This white-cop-out-to-get-black-civilian narrative advances the interest of many. The media loves what Tom Wolfe called the "Great White Defendant" -- a bad white guy everybody can agree to dislike. For the Democrats, it furthers their assertion that race remains a major problem in America, that Republicans/tea partiers/black conservatives are out to get them, and you must vote for us. For "activists" like the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, and local wannabes, it gives them continued relevance.

That this "epidemic" is imaginary can be demonstrated by the recent stories that never became national news.

In Mobile, Alabama, a black cop shot and killed an unarmed white teenager. As with Michael Brown, the Alabama teen was later found to have been under the influence of marijuana at the time of the shooting. The teen had also recently taken a hallucinogen, and was so stoned he thought he was on fire ?- and literally took his clothes off. Nude -- and obviously unarmed -- he was still later shot by the cop. Despite public pressure, a Mobile grand jury decided not to indict the black police officer, believing he acted in self-defense. Not national news.

In Salt Lake City, Utah, just two days after Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, a "not white" cop shot and killed an unarmed 20-year-old man whose race has been described as Hispanic. The family of the dead man believes that the cop is a murderer. Not national news.

In Pennsylvania, a state trooper named Kelly Cruz was accused in 2009 of stomping on the head of a handcuffed suspect laying on the ground, resulting in facial fractures, a broken nose and damaged teeth. The trooper, at the time, was attached to a local drug task force and was part of a raid on a suspected meth lab. One of the men inside escaped during the raid, and the victim -- who, according to another officer, was seen running from the scene and found five houses away -- was thought to be the meth lab escapee. Turns out the victim was not a meth lab escapee. The local grand jury decided not to indict the trooper. The feds, however, filed civil rights charges against the cop. He was found not guilty by the federal jury. Not national news.

It is rare for a cop to shoot and kill any civilian. Excluding practice on the gun range, 95 percent of officers never discharge their firearm while in the line of duty, including those who work for big-city departments. The first time -- and only time -- officer Darren Wilson used his firearm while on duty was in the Michael Brown case. The facts do not support the narrative that there is an epidemic of white cops shooting unarmed blacks.

We are being manipulated.

Crippling Children By Selling Them Racism By Larry Elder

The recent "rash" of police officers killing blacks is prompting "civil rights activists" to describe America -- despite the election and re-election of a black president -- as still a simmering caldron of racism. Never mind that according to the CDC, in 2012 (the most recent year with available data) 140 blacks were killed by cops -- versus 386 whites killed by cops.

This dreary movie scene comes from a film about inner-city black teens called "Menace II Society." A black high school teacher speaks to two former students: "Being a black man in America isn't easy. The hunt is on, and you're the prey! All I'm saying is ... all I'm saying is -- survive! Alright?" In case the identity of the alleged "hunter" is unclear, we hear a police siren in the background. Cops are out to get young black men.

Ridiculous.

But that gloomy narrative tracks closely with Attorney General Eric Holder's assertion that America suffers from "pernicious racism." And a few weeks after the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin shooting happened, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, "Blacks are under attack."
Absurd.

In 1997, CNN and Time conducted a poll that asked white and black teens about "racism." Question: Is racism a major problem in America? Both black and white teens said, "yes." But when black teens were asked if racism is a "big problem," a "small problem" or "no a problem at all" -- in their own lives -- 89 percent called racism a "small problem" or "not a problem at all" for themselves.

In fact, 17 years ago, not only did black teens see racism as an insignificant problem in their own lives, but nearly twice as many black teens than white teens called "failure to take advantage of available opportunities" a bigger problem than racism.

What damage do "activists" inflict by convincing young black men that cops -- or, for that matter, Republicans, tea party members and black conservatives -- are out to get them? This emotion-based paranoia has real-world consequences. Fear and paranoia hurt potential and careers.

In the '60s, University of Pennsylvania professor Martin Seligman developed the theory of "learned helplessness" -- when a person learns to believe and act helpless when, in fact, they do have control over their own negative circumstances but fail to exercise it. He then devoted most of his studies to "positive psychology" and the effect of happiness and optimism in people's lives. He produced an equation, H=S+C+V, where a person's genetic capacity for happiness (S), plus their circumstances (C) and factors under their voluntary control (V) equal their happiness (H).

His extensive research discovered that a low "C" -- adverse circumstances like poor health or poverty -- matters very little if a person has a high "V," a positive, optimistic outlook and a belief in himself. For example, he found that an upbeat wheelchair-bound factory worker often leads a happier life than a robust, wealthy CEO.

Psychologists called this the "emotional quotient" factor, or EQ: a measurement of a person's ability to monitor his or her emotions, cope with pressures and demands, control his or her thoughts and actions, and one's ability to assess and affect situations and relationships with other people. Salesmen, for example, with "high EQ" for a strong positive outlook outsold those with higher traditional aptitude, but with lower EQ. High EQ people engage in positive behavior, which leads to positive results.

George Foreman, the former heavyweight boxing champion, is one of the most successful pitchmen of our generation. A spokesperson for products ranging from Meineke mufflers and Doritos to his own low-fat indoor grill, which earned him $138 million when he sold the grill's naming rights in 1999, Foreman has an estimated net worth of $250 million. A high school dropout, Foreman recently wrote this about the value of optimism:

"This life, this country, is about HOPE.

"My first two jobs were about selling: Four hours of putting out sale papers, on doors, cars and handed out. Then at a fruit stand. Texas watermelon season was the best. Competition was great -- we had to (as boys) have a variety of melons and a lot of charm.

"The ability to sell is about the best asset one can pass on to a generation to come. And the most critical and influential product anyone can deal or trade is 'Hope.'

"No matter who we lose, every young doctor is optimistic we will win this one. And many a time we do. Not a whole lot is new, just the same old Hope. ... When things go wrong in this life our sole obligation to our children is to sell them on Hope. Sure, beating our head against the wall is an option. But time and life must proceed. Anger and disappointment bring more dark clouds. Oh, but HOPE is the sunshine that every child needs for play. ...

Teach them Hope. And BELIEVE there is Hope.

ICYMI: 3 White Girls Attacked By Black Mob

Why did the Trayvon Martin case become such a huge national story?

Is it because an innocent black teenager lost his life at the hands of a man, George Zimmerman, who "racially profiled" him? Is it that the victim is black and the shooter was not? Is it because the major media push the narrative that white anti-black racism remains an "unresolved" national issue? Is it because "civil rights activist" and MSNBC host Al Sharpton demands the shooter's arrest, threatening peaceful civil disobedience and "economic sanctions"?

If violent black-white crime generates headlines, where were the media after the sickening racially motivated assault that occurred in Long Beach, Calif., on Halloween night, 2006?

Three young white women were brutally kicked, punched and beaten by a mostly black mob of 30 to 40 teens and adults. According to witnesses, during the rampage the mob yelled: "We hate white people. F--- whites!" Yet only two local papers reported the story, and one -- the Los Angeles Times -- published its article a full week after the attack! National Public Radio got around to mentioning Long Beach a month later, but only to raise the question of whether blacks, given America's history of racism, can even commit a "hate crime."

The way The New York Times covered the 1991 Crown Heights, N.Y., riots shows how the major media downplay black violence. A Columbia University professor called the three days of anti-Semitic rioting "a modern-day pogrom."

The Crown Heights riots started after a 7-year-old black child was killed in a traffic accident when a car driven by a Hasidic Jew went out of control. The Rev. Sharpton led 400 protesters through the Jewish section of Crown Heights, with one protester holding a sign that read, "The White Man Is the Devil." During the ensuing nights of rock- and bottle-throwing, nearly 200 people suffered injuries. Surrounded by a mob yelling, "Kill the Jew!" a young Talmudic scholar, Yankel Rosenbaum, was stabbed to death.

Last year, on the 20th anniversary of the Crown Heights riots, Rosenbaum's brother wrote: "It was Sharpton who repeatedly bellowed to the rioters, 'No justice, no peace!' And Sharpton claims his remarks at Gavin Cato's funeral were misinterpreted. Here is what he said ... : 'Talk about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights. The issue is not anti-Semitism; the issue is apartheid. ... All we want to say is what Jesus said: If you offend one of these little ones, you got to pay for it. No compromise, no meetings, no coffee klatch, no skinnin' and grinnin'.'"

But according to a New York Times reporter, Ari Goldman, the Times insisted on reporting a false narrative: (SET ITAL) that during the riots Jews were as likely to be the aggressor as were blacks. (END ITAL) Frustrated over the misleading reporting, Goldman said he called his Times editor to complain, "'You don't know what's happening here!' I yelled. 'I am on the streets getting attacked. Someone next to me just got hit. I am writing memos, and what comes out in the paper? 'Hasidim and blacks clashed'? That's not what is happening here. Jews are being attacked! You've got this story all wrong. All wrong.'"

The New York Times simply did not want to hear about the one-sided nature of the riots. Nor is accurately covering the extent of black-on-black crime apparently news that's fit to print.

Following Trayvon Martin's death, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, "Blacks are under attack" -- presumably by the George Zimmermans of the country. And Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., a black lawmaker and former member of the Black Panthers, stood up on the floor of the House. Against House rules, he donned a hoodie, presumably to demonstrate the unfairness of profiling a black man based on his clothing.

Rush later described himself as "an African-American father whose son has been killed on the streets." Rush implied that his son, like Trayvon Martin, was an innocent black victim of random street violence.

The details remain murky about the death of Rush's son. But Rush's son, Huey, was allegedly working as a drug-runner. Evidence suggests that Huey was targeted. One of the murder suspects said Huey had been paid $100,000 to procure drugs that he failed to deliver. And tragically, in 2002 another member of Rush's family, Dennis Rush, was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery during a narcotics transaction. The crime had nothing to do with randomness or profiling.

For many in the media, the Trayvon Martin case is a referendum on "race relations" in America. But the case is really a referendum on the media. The media are intensely interested in covering white-on-black violence, even when rushing to do so -- as in the Duke lacrosse "rape" case -- compromises the truth. But the media are far less interested in reporting about the No. 1 cause of death of young black men age 15 to 24: homicide by other black men.

Alabama Teacher Suspended After Students Reenact Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin Shootings

SELMA, Ala. - An Alabama teacher was suspended without pay after being accused of having sixth-grade students re-enact the deadly police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the Trayvon Martin killing in Florida.

The Selma Times-Journal quoted Dallas County School Superintendent Don Willingham as saying the social studies teacher used poor judgment during a lesson on current events.

School officials haven't identified the teacher, who works at Brantley Elementary School.

Administrators were alerted to the Ferguson re-enactment this week after the mother of a student in the class posted a complaint on Facebook. The Missouri city has been a hotbed of protests since a police officer fatally shot unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.

Willingham said his investigation showed the teacher told students to research and re-enact a current event of their choosing. The students picked the killings of Brown and Trayvon Martin, who was fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in 2012, he said.

Students used paper guns and bullets, and students portraying victims fell on pillows, he said.

Willingham said the teacher "made a mistake" in judgment by having students re-enact the shootings.

Donald Sterling: The Latest ‘Great White Defendant’ By Larry Elder

Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher in a dispute with the Bureau of Land Management; the Duke lacrosse college students falsely accused of sexual assault; George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman accused of and acquitted for the murder of a black Florida teenager; and now Donald Sterling, the billionaire owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.

What do these men have in common?

They are white males. More than that, they are -- to the media -- white male villains. In the 1987 novel, “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” Tom Wolfe talks about the hunt for the Great White Defendant. In the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin, case, the media initial assumed he was a non-Hispanic Jew -- not exactly the kind of WASPy Great White Defendant described by Tom Wolfe in “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” but close enough. Zimmerman was also rather inconveniently not rich, but again one takes what one can get. Worse, it turns out his ethnicity is more like non-white Hispanic, but still…

The media love it when a white, and ideally, rich male commits a crime or does something we can collectively condemn. There’s a reason TV’s Lt. Columbo was more likely sent to Bel-Air than to Compton or Watts where the per capita murder rate is much higher.

No one gets mad over media coverage of rich white people doing bad things to other rich white people. White males are used to being called bad names, rich whites even more so. White males have no special interest group behind them, no NAACP, no NOW, no CAIR. They are the dominant class, the moneyed class, and therefore an agreed-upon target.

A close cousin to the Great White Defendant is the Great White Topic. The Los Angeles Times ran a story the mistreatment of black tradesmen who worked in upper-class suburban Los Angeles. They told stories of rude, distrustful white homeowners who yelled, sic dogs or otherwise treated blacks plumbers, painters and the like.

I mentioned this story to a friend who works at a newspaper. I told him about a roofer who recently worked for me. The roofer told me that when on a job in South Central someone shot at him. The bullet struck a tile nearby. “Where’s that story in the Los Angeles Times?” I said.

To this, my newspaper friend said: "You're right. No one is mad at the black people who mistreat rich, rude white people. But a story the other way around -- there's a problem.

This is from “The Bonfire of the Vanities” by Tom Wolfe:

“Every assistant D.A. in the Bronx, from the youngest Italian just out of St. John`s Law School to the oldest Irish bureau chief, who would be somebody like Bernie Fitzgibbon, who was forty-two, shared Captain Ahab`s mania for the Great White Defendant. For a start, it was not pleasant to go through life telling yourself, ‘What I do for a living is, I pack blacks and Latins off to jail.’”

The hunt for the Great White Defendant also applies to television and movies. Ben Shapiro wrote of “Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How The Left Took Over Your TV.” John Langley, the creator of the reality show “Cops,” told Shapiro that “Cops” intentionally under-depicts black criminals and black crime.

Conservative media critic Steve Sailor, on the crime show, “Law and Order”:

“The press' lack of interest in minority violence is even more true of movies and television shows.

“Three years after Bonfire, TV producer Dick Wolf took Tom Wolfe's basic procedural framework of detectives and district attorneys and turned it into the television drama ‘Law & Order.’ Its first few seasons were among the best and most realistic in the history of television.

“The only problem was that ratings were lousy. Sure, at the time, New York City was in the middle of hideous gang wars among black and Latin crack dealers, with 4,298 people human beings murdered within the city limits in 1990 and 1991 (an annual toll about three times higher than the average during the current Iraq war).

“Unfortunately for TV producers with aspirations toward realism, less than 10 percent of the NYC victims, and even fewer of their murderers, were white. The white television audience found that L&O's initial set of heavily minority murderers boring and depressing. What white people like are stories about bad white people, especially, snooty bad white people, to whom they can feel morally and culturally superior. Whites just don't really see minorities as competing with them in the Great American Status Game.”

Meanwhile, less newsworthy but of greater importance, 86 percent of black households in Richmond, Virginia, have no fathers, and 60 percent of all Richmond households are fatherless.

Despite the election and election of the first black president, “race” still occupies a lot of media attention. In just the last few weeks, we saw accusations of “racism” against Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, for saying the welfare state hurt poor minority families. Ryan apologized for the “inarticulate” way he explained it. Ryan moved over for rancher Cliven Bundy who supposedly made “racist” comments about “the Negro” and “the Spanish people.” Bundy apologized on television, holding up a boot to symbolize how his mouth often got him into trouble. Bundy has now moved over.

Now it’s Donald Sterling. He’s rich, real rich, has a bad reputation for being cheap and demeaning -- and has been accused of “racism.” Perfect.

TMZ posted portions of a taped conversation between L.A. Clippers Owner Donald Sterling and his girlfriend. The fit hit the shan. Magic Johnson called for Sterling to resign. Relinquish the team! ESPN is breathlessly covering this “major story.”

Magic Johnson said in a statement: 

“It’s a shame that Donald Sterling feels that way about African-Americans. He has a team full of amazing African-American basketball players that are working to bring a championship to Clippers fans. The Clippers also have a strong minority fan base.” 

He later said: 
"Something has to be done, and if that means him losing the team, then that has to happen," Johnson said. "The league has to come down hard and make a statement.''

The Clippers’ statement read: 
"We have heard the tape on TMZ. We do not know if it is legitimate or if it has been altered. We do know that the woman on the tape -- who we believe released it to TMZ -- is the defendant in a lawsuit brought by the Sterling family alleging that she embezzled more than $1.8 million, who told Mr. Sterling that she would 'get even.' Mr. Sterling is emphatic that what is reflected on that recording is not consistent with, nor does it reflect his views, beliefs or feelings. It is the antithesis of who he is, what he believes and how he has lived his life. He feels terrible that such sentiments are being attributed to him and apologizes to anyone who might have been hurt by them. He is also upset and apologizes for sentiments attributed to him about Earvin Johnson. He has long considered Magic a friend and has only the utmost respect and admiration for him -- both in terms of who he is and what he has achieved. We are investigating this matter.”


LeBron James, before yesterday’s game, said:
"There is no room for Donald Sterling in our league. … Obviously, if the reports are true, it's unacceptable in our league. It doesn't matter, white, black or Hispanic -- all across the races it's unacceptable. As the commissioner of our league, they have to make a stand. They have to be very aggressive with it. I don't know what it will be, but we can't have that in our league."

Well, move over Cliven Bundy, who moved over after George Zimmerman. Meet America’s Next New White Bigot -- Donald Sterling. The “racist” hires a respected, expensive championship-winning black coach, who happens to be married to a white woman. The “racist” pays his black starting point guard $18 million annually. Oh, and the “racist” Sterling’s girlfriend, with whom he’s seen in public, is a black Latina.

Yep, dude sounds just like a Klansman.
Now, can we please calm down?

An old guy has a verbal fight with his girlfriend, which she apparently -- surreptitiously -- records. They quarrel. The most eye-raising parts have to do with Sterling, 80, telling his girlfriend, 38, that he doesn’t want her attending games with black people. His reasons appear to be that his girlfriend, who describes herself as black and Mexican, would look -- to others -- more white if she sat next to white people. I guess. I really don’t know.

And care even less.

Despite his obvious anger, Sterling never says the “n” word, let along calls her a “c” word. He expresses admiration for Magic Johnson. He even asks her almost in disbelief or surprise, “You think I’m a racist!” Then the now ex-girlfriend, currently being sued by the Sterling family for embezzling almost $2 mil, delivers the recording to TMZ. And here we go again with America’s newest racist. Tiger Wood’s quarrel ended with his SUV smashed into a tree. Mel Gibson’s rant included a wish that his girlfriend be “raped by a pack of n--gers.” But this will do.

If Sterling is unfit to own a team now that he’s expressed racial animosity, what about Spike Lee? A courtside fixture at Knicks games, Lee once said he dislikes interracial couples: "I give interracial couples a look. Daggers. They get uncomfortable when they see me on the street." Should the NBA investigate the suitability of an expressed hater of interracial couples to have such a prominent perch at the Garden? Spike Lee hates interracial relationships. Donald Sterling hates being in one. Soul brothers! Bet Spike could score some courtside seats.

A certain beloved, foul-mouthed, Los Angeles ex-baseball manager privately swore and dropped non-PC words with ease and familiarity -- but we laughed and considered the source. And, like Sterling, he had black and white players.

What about Bill Maher? He is a part-owner of the Mets -- that is when not calling Sarah Palin the “c” word or Michelle Bachman “a dumb t--t” or when not joking about Palin’s son Trig, who has Down Syndrome. Should MLB investigate and monitor his stand-up for foul language?
Speaking of racist public figures, if Sterling ought not own a team, then the Rev. Al Sharpton ought not have a TV show. How does the race-hustling, anti-Semitic, non-tax paying, FBI would-be drug-dealing snitch, “civil rights” leader who lied his way to fame warrant a show on MSNBC?

As to the seriousness of Sterling’s comment, a little perspective. The beloved Lakers owner Jerry Buss once got busted for DUI. As always with drunk drivers, only good fortune stopped someone from getting hurt or killed. But this was quickly dropped from media attention. 

Again, Buss … could … have … killed … somebody. Sterling had a verbal fight with a flirty girlfriend.
Back to the Sterling tape. Listening to the whole thing, it sounds like they’re meant for each other. He’s jealous and insecure, an old guy asking his girl not to make him into a bigger behind-the-back joke than he already is. She sounds shallow and manipulative, clearing trying to get him to say some really bad stuff.

As for Magic Johnson’s reaction, let me say this. Magic, love you, but your confessed behavior endangered your family, your team and others. Sterling quarreled with his GF. Martina Navratilova said if a woman did what you did, she would have been called a "slut." Sterling should be shunned?!

Did Magic call for a Clippers boycott when, for years, its owner mistreated Elgin Baylor, stiffed players and twice settled housing discrimination lawsuits? Or when in 2000, Sports Illustrated named the Clippers the “worst” franchise in North American history? But now because Sterling says he doesn’t want his squeeze hanging with brothers -- he’s unfit to own a team? Why the “racist” even gave her permission to “f--k” any black person she wants -- provided she didn’t strut around Staples with the guy. A gold-digger’s dream. Old money, young sex. Such a deal! Some racist!

Can black and white victicrats take a day off from being "offended"? Dolts -- whether Bundy or Sterling -- who are incapable of harm, say stupid things. The real issues -- under-education, irresponsible breeding and parenting, and lack of jobs -- have nothing to do with Sterling’s jealously and will not be resolved by his public flaying.

About racism, consider this. A 2013 poll finds that as between blacks, whites and Hispanics, blacks are the most racist. Even blacks said they were the most racist. Should we screen players and fans for racism before they enter the stadium?

Oh, the moralizing from the NBA.! This a league where reportedly some 50 percent of players have kids out of wedlock. How bad is the problem?

“One player, speaking anonymously,” wrotethe Brushback, “said there are ‘a shitload’ of illegitimate children born to NBA players every year: ‘I would say that close to 50 or 60 percent of all players have had children out of wedlock,’ said the player. ‘It’s crazy. It’s like these guys never read the Ten Commandments. Hello? Having sex outside of marriage is considered adultery. Having children outside of marriage is even worse. Now those kids will grow up knowing that they’re illegitimate bastards. They’ll be ostracized by the normal kids, and for good reason.’”

What effect does this have on kids who look up to ballplayers? Will the league be investigating that?

This is from Sports Illustrated in 1998: “Although there have been no studies on athletes and their out-of-wedlock kids, those who are familiar with the issue say the numbers are staggering. ‘I'd say that there might be more kids out of wedlock than there are players in the NBA,’ estimates one of the league's top agents, who says he spends more time dealing with paternity claims than he does negotiating contracts.

“Len Elmore, an ESPN broadcaster and former NBA player, worked as an agent but says he quit in part because of a ‘lack of responsibility’ among his clients. ‘For numbers, I would guess that one [out-of-wedlock child] for every player is a good ballpark figure,’ says Elmore. ‘For every player with none, there's a guy with two or three.’”

The league allowed Kobe Bryant to keep playing while being prosecuted for rape -- but Sterling must relinquish his team? Really?

"Racist" comments are common in locker rooms. Can we secretly tape that sometime? Regarding Sterling’s “racist” language, did anyone bother to read the NFL report on Richie Incognito's bullying? Racist, homophobic put-downs are common in locker rooms -- but we’re shocked to hear it on tape. Will someone secretly tape an NBA locker room? We'll see how it holds up to public scrutiny.

Will Sterling haters willing to have the most severe fight with a spouse/girlfriend secretly recorded and released, please stand up?

The NBA just announced an investigation into Sterling and the impact his words have on league image. While they’re at it, what about an investigation into the impact on our youth of both L.A. basketball team owners' -- the late Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss, now Clippers’ Sterling -- penchant for ladies 100 years younger than they are?

  • Sigh. Next comes the part where Sterling produces a black friend willing to be called Uncle Tom. Sterling then hires black PR firm, spreads money. 

  • It’s a scam. The search for the Great White Bigot keeps blacks angry -- all the more to retain that 95 percent Democrat, GOP-are-racists black vote. 

  • Media snags another old racist white guy! America can sleep well tonight. Sure, "racism is alive and well," but another one down! 

  • Did media care about Donna Brazile’s racism? The former Al Gore campaign manager told The Washington Post that the GOP has a "white boy attitude" and seeks to "exclude, denigrate, and leave behind." 

  • What about Bill Clinton? “A few years ago,” Clinton said to Ted Kennedy during the 2008 primary season, according to the book, "Game Change,” [Obama] would have been getting us coffee.” Crickets. People stand and applaud when Clinton enters.


 Meanwhile, non-racist media ignore 234 kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls. So, victicrats! March against "racism." Move over Bundy, Zimmerman. Today, it's Sterling!

Once again, we aren’t talking about the broken promises of Obamacare. Scandals like IRS, Benghazi or Fast & Furious have long left the front pages.

This is flat-out, hands down, the worst economic “recovery” in 80 years, if not the worst in American history. Don’t believe me?

This is from the Associated Press: “Since World War II, 10 U.S. recessions have been followed by a recovery that lasted at least three years. An Associated Press analysis shows that by just about any measure, the one that began in June 2009 is the weakest…. Economic growth has never been weaker in a postwar recovery. Consumer spending has never been so slack. Only once has job growth been slower. More than in any other post-World War II recovery, people who have jobs are hurting: Their paychecks have fallen behind inflation.” The administration cannot brag about growth or job creation. So spend time and energy on nonsense.


But let’s talk Cliven Bundy. Let’s talk Sterling. Let’s talk Zimmerman.

Black unemployment just went up, month-to month, from 12 percent to 12.4 percent. We have sky-high teen unemployment, especially among black teens. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have called the black unemployment rate “unconscionable.” National debt is up substantially. The entitlement programs remain on an unsustainable path. And we just added a new expensive entitlement: Obamacare -- a drain on freedom and prosperity, whose full price tag is as yet unknowable.  

Fifty years of welfare state policies have de-stabilized families and created fatherless homes -- all of which exacerbate problems of crime, school dropout rates, under-education and government dependency. Tupac Shakur said, “I know for a fact that had I had a father, I’d have some discipline. I’d have more confidence.” Tupac admitted he began running with gangs because he wanted structure and protection: “Your mother cannot calm you down the way a man can. Your mother can't reassure you the way a man can. My mother couldn't show me where my manhood was. You need a man to teach you how to be a man.”

President Obama said: “Children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty, nine times more likely to drop out of schools and 20 times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home, or become teenage parents themselves."

Wave a magic wand. Remove racism from the hearts of the Bundys, Sterlings and Zimmermans. The effect on these problems is what?

So let’s talk “income disparity,” or “climate change” or that “racism remains alive and well in America.”

Sigh.
