 Although President Donald Trump’s first pick for one of two empty seats on the Federal Reserve Board has removed himself from consideration, Stephen Moore, his second pick for a seat, is still in the running. But not without controversy — Moore is facing criticism for his past comments about women and his views on the American way of governing, per USA Today.

 During an interview with Michael Moore for his 2009 documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story, the conservative pundit said that he believes “capitalism is a lot more important than democracy.”

Some of the most intriguing answers came from CalvinDehaze a former porn producer who provided a long list of myth-busting facts about the adult film industry.

Cosby Said He Got Drugs To Give Women For Sex

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bill Cosby testified in 2005 that he got Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with, and he admitted giving the sedative to at least one woman and "other people," according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

The AP had gone to court to compel the release of the documents; Cosby's lawyers had objected on the grounds that it would embarrass their client.

The 77-year-old comedian was testifying under oath in a lawsuit filed by a former Temple University employee. He testified he gave her three half-pills of Benadryl.

Minimum-wage and other New Deal policies, according to Cato's Jim Powell, cost jobs:

"The flagship of the New Deal was the National Industrial Recovery Act, passed in June 1933. It authorized the president to issue executive orders establishing some 700 industrial cartels, which restricted output and forced wages and prices above market levels.

"The minimum-wage regulations made it illegal for employers to hire people who weren't worth the minimum because they lacked skills. As a result, some 500,000 blacks, particularly in the South, were estimated to have lost their jobs."

Today's push for a higher minimum wage occurs as the supposed "pay gap" between male and female millennials now approaches extinction. Pew Research Center says:

"Today's young women are the first in modern history to start their work lives at near parity with men. In 2012, among workers ages 25 to 34, women's hourly earnings were 93% those of men. ... And women in the younger age cohort were significantly more likely than their male counterparts to have completed a bachelor's degree — 38% versus 31% in 2013."

Two years ago, Elissa Shevinsky, described as a "social justice warrior," complained about "sexism" in high-tech industries. She argued for policies to encourage more women in tech.

But Shevinsky later had an epiphany: "I think the more important meaning is to actively choose a path that's yours — for women to create their own companies and their own infrastructures, to actively seek out people and create places that are a fit for them. Women are martyring themselves trying to change the existing culture, and it's miserable for everyone."

In other words, stop acting like victicrats — and take control. Shevinsky now says, "Complaining can be effective but also authoritarian, and often unpleasant for everyone involved. Building something new can be even more impactful, and I believe it's a healthier approach."

Former Sony Pictures co-chief Amy Pascal gives equally blunt advice about knowing and getting what you're worth. After the Sony cyber-attack revealed that she paid star Jennifer Lawrence less money than her less-popular male costars, Pascal offered this defense:

"Here's the problem. I run a business. People want to work for less money; I'll pay them less money. I don't call them up and say, 'Can I give you some more?' Because that's not what you do when you run a business.

"The truth is, what women have to do is not work for less money. They have to walk away. People shouldn't be so grateful for jobs. . .. People should know what they're worth."

More Women Seek Concealed Carry

In the past three years or so, Tom Englehart said he has seen a 60-70 percent increase in the number of women enrolling in his concealed carry classes. Englehart, and other Nebraska State Patrol-certified concealed carry instructors in the area, will teach some women-only courses. There are five in the city.

Part of concealed carry training is learning that a firearm is a last resort. But it could also be training for the worst day of your life, said Andrew McCleary, concealed carry instructor at Exodus Concealed Carry Training Center, which relocated in November to 510 N. Dewey St.

“Defensive shooting is not going to happen in a building with a bad guy in front of you,” McCleary said.

McCleary said he enjoys teaching all-women courses. His female students are more likely to be handling a handgun for the first time.

“They haven’t been shooting since they were this tall,” he said, gesturing at about thigh-height.

The fresh approach that all-women classes have is advantageous, he said. They’re not caught on habits from years of shooting, like an incorrect or inefficient grip. Englehart said women in his classes are usually more involved.

The results reflected a growing consumer preference for "experience" over goods, Sarah Quinlan, a senior vice president at MasterCard, said. The "economy is very strong but they are spending in a different way," she said in an interview.

Contrary to some experts who predicted a strong showing for electronics, the category was among the weakest, with sales "basically flat" from Black Friday to Dec. 24 and in negative territory when looking at sales starting on Nov. 1, according to the report.

In Barack Obama’s last weekly address before the November election, he resorted to his usual chicanery, this time with an emphasis on the War on Women. Obama started by claiming that over the past 55 months, “Our businesses have added 10.3 million new jobs.”

1. “Our businesses?” Since when did the creator of the infamous line “You didn’t build that,” have the right to call them “Our businesses?”

2. “Added 10.3 million new jobs?" It is technically true that 10.3 million jobs have been added to the economy since its low ebb in 2009. But as Forbes stated in September:

More than five years into the tepid recovery, labor-force participation remains at its lowest level since 1978. Don’t blame waves of retirement for that fact: the Census Bureau reported that, from 2005 to 2010, older Americans actually became more likely to be employed. The percentage of 65-69 year-olds remaining in the workforce jumped from 26 percent to 32 percent over a ten-year-period ending in 2012. Among those 70-74 the jump was even more startling: from 14 percent to 19.5 percent. Meanwhile workers in the prime of their lives have simply left the playing field.

Ousted PGA of America President Ted Bishop became the latest sports executive punished for making insensitive comments, reflecting a growing effort by sports bodies to react decisively on sexist or racist comments.

Bishop's removal came one day after he referred to England's Ian Poulter as a "little school girl squealing during recess," and a week after a Russian tennis official was suspended for mocking Serena and Venus Williams as the "Williams brothers."

Oddly Gillibrand insists on living in the United States instead of in the more progressive Pakistan under the notoriously feminist Sharia law.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, appointed to her position via Senator Schumer as a favor for a politically connected clan, changed all her political positions and is working hard to pretend that she’s a serious legislator.

Mainly by repeating stupid thingsthat other people have said.
The most animated speaker was Gillibrand, who condemned opposition to expanding paid family leave across the country. 
The Family and Medical Insurance Leave Act would establish a national paid family and medical leave insurance program so workers would not have to choose between a paycheck and caring for themselves or a family member, said Gillibrand. 
“In every other industrialized, wealthy country in the world they have paid leave,” the senator said. “Europe has up to six months. Even Afghanistan and Pakistan have paid leave, but we do not have paid leave in this country, and because of that when forced to meet a family need, an urgent care need, often times women are forced to leave the workplace because they cannot take that time off unpaid.”
Sure Pakistan and Afghanistan are fantastic for women.
