Sheriff Joe: Democrats Using Illegals For Votes

WND Exclusive, Jun. 7, 2015

Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Sunday Democrats are mostly interested in immigration reform because the newly legalized residents will eventually obtain voting rights and will vote for Democrats.

“That’s common sense,” said Arpaio. “I don’t think that’s something that nobody knows. You make them here legally so they can vote.”

Arpaio was speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia’s NewsTalk 990 AM.

“There’s a push afoot nationally to sign up more Hispanics to be able to vote,” said Arpaio. “But you have to be careful now. But if you legalize these guys, these people, they are going to vote.”

Black Chicago Pastor: Dems ‘Failing’ Us

By Justin Glawe, Jun. 4, 2015, The Daily Beast

A pastor on the South Side is asking Republicans to talk to his flock after what he says are 50 years of disappointment from the other party.

CHICAGO — It is difficult to imagine a less likely GOP presidential campaign stop than O Block.

After all, it’s the most dangerous stretch of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Chicago and one of the toughest territories in the city.

But if Republicans stand a chance of chipping away at Democrats’ dominance over the black vote in this city and elsewhere, it might be something to consider.

“African Americans have been loyal to the Democratic Party,” Pastor Corey Brooks said. “But there is a group of African Americans that feel like the Democratic Party has not been loyal to us.”

Not far from O Block—named for a fallen gang member killed by a female assassin—is New Beginnings Church of Chicago, where Brooks sat in his office Wednesday morning laying out the case for Republican presidential candidates to visit the area.

Jon Stewart Apologizes For Telling CNN He Didn't Vote

Frank Pallotta, Nov. 5, 2014, CNN Money

Jon Stewart jokes around a lot on "The Daily Show," but some subjects like voting are even too serious to kid about for Stewart.

Appearing on CNN with Christiane Amanpour to talk about Tuesday's midterm elections, Stewart was asked if he voted. The late night host responded "no" saying, "I just moved. I don't know even where my thing is now."

Why Lena Dunham Shouldn't Be Allowed To Vote

Jonah Goldberg, Nov. 4, 2014, Los Angeles Times

Tuesday is election day. Well, not exactly. As this newspaper reported in September, early voting has turned what used to be election day into the last day of "election month."

Election month is bad, but it is a symptom of a deeper problem that makes the underlying problem worse. As George Orwell said, "A man may take to drink because he feels himself to be a failure, but then fail all the more completely because he drinks."

Is This The Beginning Of The End For Blacks And Dems?

Keli Goff, Nov. 3, 2014, The Daily Beast

Clearly there were black voters before Barack Obama, but to put in context the difference between black voter turnout in the Obama era and black voter turnout before, consider this. In 2008 two million more black voters showed up at the polls than had four years before. Among young black voters ages 18 to 24, there was an 8 percent increase in turnout from 2004 to 2008, the highest increase among any demographic, across racial, gender and generational lines.

In a phone interview, Andra Gillespie, a Political Scientist based at Emory University said, “People historically thought black voters participated in the political process and voted because they had confidence in their own ability to effect change in the political system, irrespective of whether they believed politicians cared about what they thought. But there was some work that came out about 25 years ago that suggests that’s not true and that in fact that blacks feel empowered when they see blacks in positions of power.” Gillespie explained that this research did find a connection between the number of likely black voters and black elected leaders.

Justice Department Dispatches Poll Monitors For Election Day

Josh Hicks, Nov. 3, 2014, Washington Post

The Justice Department has dispatched federal poll monitors to 18 states in an effort to prevent voter discrimination ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday.

The monitors will look for race-based discrimination and inadequate resources for bilingual voters and individuals with disabilities, the agency said in a statement on Monday.

Philly Dems Wanted $340G In 'Street Money'--Wolf Said No

Tom Fitzgerald, Nov. 3, 2014, Philly.com

It's a Philadelphia tradition: Democratic candidates for governor and even president are asked to give hundreds of thousands of dollars in "street money" to the party's ward leaders to finance get-out-the-vote operations in the city on Election Day. They usually say yes.

Tom Wolf, asked for $340,000, said no.

The Democratic gubernatorial nominee declined to reach into his campaign fund for the money, saying he wanted to win by appealing to voters on issues and offering the chance to defeat Gov. Corbett, who remains unpopular in the city.

Nat'l Environment Is Terrible For Democrats, Say Democrats

Chris Cillizza, Oct. 29, 2014, Washington Post

Prominent Democratic strategists are growing increasingly nervous that the national political environment is not only bad for their side but is moving in the wrong direction in the final days before the election, a trend that could not only cost them control of the Senate but also visit double-digit House losses on the party.

There were lots (and lots) of reasons given for the difficulties facing Democrats. The Senate map. The historic trends of second term, midterm elections — aka the "six-year itch." Voter apathy. But the one factor that virtually every person I talked to cited as the biggest reason for the party's current predicament was President Obama.

La Raza Promotes WashPost Guide On Where People Can Vote Without An ID

Photo via Flickr
Patrick Howley, Oct. 29, 2014, DailyCaller

The pro-amnesty Hispanic activist organization the National Council of La Raza helpfully promoted a Washington Post article explaining which states people can vote in without having to use a photo ID.

“Voter ID laws are at-issue across the country, with newly Republican-controlled legislatures having passed them in numerous states after the 2010 election,”explained The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake. “Most states still request some form of ID, but don’t require it. Another 20 states don’t require identification. In case you’re wondering where your state is at in all of this, a helpful (sic) graphic from the Post’s graphics team.”

Md. Board Of Elections Probe Republican-To-Democratic Ballot Switch Claims

Meghan McCorkell, Oct. 28, 2014, CBS Baltimore

As Marylanders go to the polls, there are concerns that the vote you cast may not be for the candidate you want.

“We’ve heard from scores of citizens in our district and around the state who have had this problem where they hit one button to vote for one person, and when they go to the summary they see that the other person was checked,” said Del Nik Kipke, (R) Anne Arundel County.

Machines Flip GOP Votes To Democrats In Maryland

Kenric Ward, Oct. 25, 2014, Examiner.com

Voting machines that switch Republican votes to Democrats are being reported in Maryland.

“When I first selected my candidate on the electronic machine, it would not put the ‘x’ on the candidate I chose -- a Republican -- but it would put the ‘x’ on the Democrat candidate above it,” reported Donna Hamilton.

“This happened multiple times with multiple selections. Every time my choice flipped from Republican to Democrat. Sometimes it required four or five tries to get the ‘x’ to stay on my real selection,” the Frederick, Md., resident said Thursday.

Poll: Voters See A More Divided Nation; GOPers More Enthusiastic To Vote

By Rasmussen Reports, Jul. 22, 2014,

Voters strongly believe the United States is a more divided nation these days, and they think both sides are to blame. Most are also ready to do something about it at the ballot box in November.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Likely U.S. Voters say America is a more divided nation than it was four years ago. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just seven percent (7%) think the country is less divided now, while 21% rate the level of division as about the same.(To see survey question wording, click here.)

Among voters who see more division or about the same level of it, 35% believe President Obama is to blame. But 34% point the finger at Republicans in Congress instead. Twenty-three percent (23%) say they’re both to blame. Just five percent (5%) attribute the division to something else.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of all voters say they are more likely to vote this year than they have been in past elections. Only four percent (4%) say they are less likely to do so, while 38% rate their intention to vote as about the same as in past years.

Perhaps problematic for Democrats is that 65% of GOP voters and 55% of voters not affiliated with either major party are more likely to vote this year, compared to 53% of those in the president’s party. But that could change as the election gets nearer.

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of voters nationwide are at least somewhat confident that the candidates they vote for will steer the country in the right direction, but that includes just 19% who are Very Confident. Thirty-three percent (33%) lack that confidence, with seven percent (7%) who are Not At All Confident that their candidates will make a difference.

By Larry Elder, Apr. 5, 2014

After 209, the number of Asian-Americans increased at the elite UC Berkeley and UCLA campuses. Thus, the repeal of race as a criterion starkly revealed that previously qualified Asian-American prospective college kids were being discriminated against in favor of lesser-qualified black and Hispanic applicants. The percentage of white students at the competitive campus stayed about the same.

So when California State Sen. Ed Hernandez, D, tried to repeal 209, he ran into an Asian-American buzz saw. Three Asian-America state senators, who had earlier supported re-using race, heard from angry constituents. They withdrew their earlier support for the repeal of 209. Hernandez tabled the measure -- for now, he says.

When I interviewed Sen. Hernandez, I told him that race-based preferences caused greater drop outs among blacks and Hispanics -- and that “affirmative action” hurt the admission chances of Asian-American students with better credentials.

Hernandez didn’t hold up well:

Don’t bet on Hernandez trying again this anytime soon. Asian-American parents know racial preferences discriminate against their sons and daughters, literally punishing them for the crime of being working hard and striving for excellence.

A few years ago, I wrote about the deep, mysterious “secret” of Asian American success -- hard work!

Here’s big question. Why do Asians-Americans, who place such a high value on education, vote 70 percent for the Democratic Party? After all, its party leaders, like Obama, push policies like “affirmative action” that compromise their children’s future. Why stay in bed with these guys?

Democrats talk the talk of a color-blind society, but walk the walk of a color-coordinated one -- and they’re the ones who do the coordinating.
