MD Sheriff: Police Officers 'Fearful' To Do Their Jobs

By Ian Hanchett, May 27, 2015, Breitbart

Wicomico County, MD Sheriff Mike Lewis (R) declared that police officers are “fearful” of doing their jobs on Wednesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

“Sean, the Baltimore City Police Department, the officers particularly on the street, have been eviscerated, they’ve been disemboweled, their guts removed to have the courage to go out there and do this job. They’re very fearful that if they go out there and be proactive, which we all should be doing in law enforcement today, we can’t afford to be reactive, especially in urban areas. Those officers are no longer being proactive, and as you see, the violence has surged. …

Farrakhan Calls For Violence To 'Tear' U.S. Over Ferguson

By Joe Newby, Nov. 30, 2014, Examiner.com

While speaking at Morgan State University, a black college in Baltimore, Maryland, Louis Farrakhan, leader of theNation of Islam, called for violence when he said Saturday that if protesters demands aren't met, “we’ll tear this (expletive deleted) country apart!” He also claimed violence is justified because the grand jury chose not to indict Darren Wilson.

“We going to die anyway (sic)," he told the crowd. "Let’s die for something.”

Farrakhan, however, wasn't finished. He instructed parents to teach their children how to throw Molotov cocktails. “Teach your baby how to throw the bottle if they can. Fight,” he added. He imitated throwing the explosive device after making his comments, Scott Greer said.

According to Farrakhan, white people -- who he classifies as "the enemy" -- will only listen if blacks rise up in violence. He also claimed violence is justified by a “law of retaliation” he claims is in both the Bible and the Koran.

“In this book, there’s a law for retaliation,” he said, holding what appeared to be the NOI version of the Koran. “A law for retaliation," he repeated.

“As long as they kill us and go to Wendy’s and have a burger and go to sleep, they’ll keep killing us,” he said. “But when we die and they die, then soon we’re going to sit at a table and talk about it! We’re tired! We want some of this earth or we’ll tear this (expletive deleted) country up!” The crowd reacted with wild applause and cheers.

A Doctor's Mistaken Ebola Test: ‘We Were Celebrating. . . . Then Everything Fell Apart’

Kevin Sieff, Nov. 17, 2014, Washington Post

When Martin Salia’s Ebola test came back negative, his friends and colleagues threw their arms around him. They shook his hand. They patted him on the back. They removed their protective gear and cried.

But when his symptoms remained nearly a week later, Salia took another test, on Nov. 10. This one came back positive, sending the Sierra Leonean doctor with ties to Maryland on a desperate, belated quest for treatment and forcing the colleagues who had embraced him into quarantine.

Md. Board Of Elections Probe Republican-To-Democratic Ballot Switch Claims

Meghan McCorkell, Oct. 28, 2014, CBS Baltimore

As Marylanders go to the polls, there are concerns that the vote you cast may not be for the candidate you want.

“We’ve heard from scores of citizens in our district and around the state who have had this problem where they hit one button to vote for one person, and when they go to the summary they see that the other person was checked,” said Del Nik Kipke, (R) Anne Arundel County.

Machines Flip GOP Votes To Democrats In Maryland

Kenric Ward, Oct. 25, 2014, Examiner.com

Voting machines that switch Republican votes to Democrats are being reported in Maryland.

“When I first selected my candidate on the electronic machine, it would not put the ‘x’ on the candidate I chose -- a Republican -- but it would put the ‘x’ on the Democrat candidate above it,” reported Donna Hamilton.

“This happened multiple times with multiple selections. Every time my choice flipped from Republican to Democrat. Sometimes it required four or five tries to get the ‘x’ to stay on my real selection,” the Frederick, Md., resident said Thursday.

The Moment That 'Confirmed' President Obama Is No Longer A 'Rock Star'

By Becket Adams, Oct. 20, 2014, Examiner.com

People used to faint during Obama speeches — now they snap selfies and leave before he's finished.

Attendees at a rally this weekend for Maryland Democratic gubernatorial candidate Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown reportedly began exiting the event early in large numbers roughly ten minutes into President Obama's speech — another hint that the president has lost his “rock star” image, Fox News’ Brit Hume declared Monday.

Obama Makes Rare Campaign Trail Appearance--People Leave Early

By Charles Dharapak, AP
By Jeff Mason, Oct. 19, 2014, Reuters.com

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama made a rare appearance on the campaign trail on Sunday with a rally to support the Democratic candidate for governor in Maryland, but early departures of crowd members while he spoke underscored his continuing unpopularity.

With approval levels hovering around record lows, Obama has spent most of his campaign-related efforts this year raising money for struggling Democrats, who risk losing control of the U.S. Senate in the Nov. 4 midterm election.

Most candidates from his party have been wary of appearing with him during their election races because of his sagging popularity.

Not so Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown of Maryland, who is running for governor, and Governor Pat Quinn of Illinois, who is running for re-election. Obama plans to appear at an event for Quinn later in the evening.

"You've got to vote," Obama repeated over and over at a rally for Brown in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, near Washington.
