‘This Interview Is Over': Clinton Backer Hangs Up On Host After Grilling Over Clinton Emails [VIDEO]

Former Clinton White House special counsel Lanny Davis hung up on Newsmax TV host Steve Malzberg Friday after the host grilled him over Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.

The Newsmax TV host opened up the interview by bringing up the fact that Clinton claimed that she never received a subpoena over her emails, even though Rep. Trey Gowdy revealed on Wednesday that Clinton did indeed receive one in March.

Davis went on the defensive immediately, telling Malzberg that Clinton was referring to not getting one prior to her giving her emails to the State Department.

“Why did Hillary say she never got a subpoena on CNN when there have been several subpoenas?” Malzberg asked initially.

Michael Steele: Trump 'Resonates' With Voters In 'Uncomfortable' Ways

Much of what Donald Trump says "resonates" both inside and outside the Republican Party, former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Wednesday, and what he says "throws a monkey wrench" in the predictability most candidates rely on.

"He is unpredictable," Steele said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program. "The other piece of it, though, is he has base support. He has an energy on the ground."

While Trump has come under some fire over statements he made concerning the Mexican border and immigrants in his campaign announcement on Tuesday, "there are a lot of folks who look at the Mexican border the way he pronounced it yesterday," Steele said.

"I think that affords him the opportunity to not only be on that stage, but to say something that is going to make the party very uncomfortable over the next few months."

Steele noted that there are concerns among establishment leaders that Trump's campaign will become a circus, or "more about the cult of personality than actually running for the presidency of the United States," and if Trump follows the approach that he showed in Tuesday's speech, that could happen.

Obama to Axelrod: 'I Am the Closest Thing to a Jew' Ever to Sit in WH

A dismayed President Barack Obama recently vented to his friend and former chief campaign adviser David Axelrod about being perceived by some as a foe to Israel, according to JP Updates.com, The Daily Caller reported.

"'You know, I think I am the closest thing to a Jew that has ever sat in this office,'" Axelrod recalled during an interview. "'For people to say that I am anti-Israel, or, even worse, anti-Semitic, it hurts.'"

Special: New Research Says Prostate Drugs Not Worth The Side EffectsOpining on the deteriorated relationship between the U.S. and Israel, Axelrod criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for caring more about elections than the long-term security of his country.

"The world of politics everywhere is divided into two categories: the first and more common is the people who run for public office because they want to be somebody," he said. "A smaller group is made of respectable people who run for public office because they want to do something — something positive. Shape the future in a positive way. I think Benjamin Netanyahu completely falls in the first category.

WSJ: Worried State Officials Met in Secret on Obamacare Subsidies

A secret meeting was held in early May with state officials from around the country to discuss the possible fallout from the upcoming Supreme Court decision over Obamacare subsidies and what to expect if they have to begin operating health insurance exchanges on their own.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the state officials met for 24 hours at the O'Hare International Airport's Hilton hotel in Chicago. The conclusion from the meeting was that the possible options are unworkable.

The Supreme Court is expected to release its decision this month on the King v. Burwell case, which challenges language in the healthcare law that says that subsidies are only supposed to come from exchanges created by the states.

When Obamacare was being implemented, 34 states did not establish their own exchanges, leaving residents in those states with no choice but to use the federal marketplace set up on HealthCare.gov to shop for health insurance if they were in need of subsidies.

If the high court rules that healthcare subsidies must come through the states, the residents will likely lose their health insurance, and health insurance premiums will also likely spiral, the Journal said.

Ben Carson: 'I Believe I Can Be President'

With the latest Quinnipiac poll showing him tied for first place with four other GOP hopefuls, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said he believes there is a possibility he could actually become president.

The campaign is the first political race for the retired neurosurgeon, but that recent poll put him at 10 percent, tied for first, with the likes of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

When asked Sunday by ABC's "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos, "Are you starting to believe you can be president?" Carson replied, "I certainly believe that that is a possibility."

But, he added, voters should look at everything all the candidates are saying before making up their minds.

Carson also addressed the statement by one of his presidential rivals, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who recently blamed the creation of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Republican hawks.

Geraldo Rivera: ABC Fired Me Over A $200 Donation

Geraldo Rivera says that he was fired by ABC because he donated $200, and he wants to know why George Stephanopoulos is being treated so differently by the same network.

"In 1985, after fifteen great years, I was fired by ABC News," Rivera wrote in a post on his Facebook page Friday. "The official reason for my firing was a non-disclosed $200 donation to a family friend running in a non-partisan mayoral campaign in New Bedford, Massachusetts."

However, Rivera, who now works for Fox News, contends that the real reason he was fired was because of an unrelated reason — he "was estranged at the time from my boss Roone Arledge" because he had "complained publicly after Roone spiked a colleague's 20/20 story about the Kennedy brothers' relationship with Marilyn Monroe."

But the reason given for his firing was the "undisclosed $200 donation."

Newsmax TV contributor Larry Elder received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week, and actors Jon Voight and Dean Cain were there to sing his praises at the induction ceremony.

Taking to the podium on sunny Monday afternoon, Voight described Elder as "a great patriot" who "understands freedom and love of America," My News L.A. reported.

"He is an American success story," said Cain. "Hard work wins."

Elder, known as the "Sage of South Central," is the host of "The Larry Elder Show" a talk radio show that ran for roughly two decades on 790 KABC in Los Angeles, and was syndicated on ABC Radio Networks.

Elder is the best-selling author of "The 10 Things You Can’t Say in America" and several other books. He also appeared on television in "Moral Court" and "The Larry Elder Show," and is a frequent panelist on Newsmax TV.

Elder became the 2,548th person to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, which also marked his 63rd birthday.

Elder thanked many people in his acceptance speech, including his fans. He said that years ago he was walking down the street when a fan told him, "I love you and I hate you. You’re like castor oil. It don’t taste good going down, but it’s good for you."

Elder posted several pictures of the ceremony on Twitter, where he boasts more than 60,000 followers.
