Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, a candidate for the 2016 Republican nomination, sounded off on Planned Parenthood, as the so-called women’s health organization has been under fire in recent weeks for a series of videos suggesting they were open to selling aborted fetal tissue for profit.

Carson referred to the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger and her position on eugenics, particularly as it pertained to blacks, which he said may not allow for him to be objective when it comes to Planned Parenthood.

“Well, maybe I’m not objective when it comes to Planned Parenthood. But you know, I know who Margaret Sanger is, and I know that she believed in eugenics, and that she was not particularly enamored with black people,” Carson said. “And one of the reasons that you find most of their clinics in black neighborhoods is so that you can find way to control that population. And I think people should go back and read about Margaret Sanger, who founded this place — a woman who Hillary Clinton by the say says she admires. Look and see what many people in Nazi Germany thought about her.”

"What did you mean by that?" asked Karl.

Obama "has been a very poor president," said Trump. "I think he has done a very poor job as president. We have 18 trillion dollars in debt and going up rapidly, rapidly ..."

How Lawmakers Can Beat Planned Parenthood’s Stalling Tactics

On Monday, federal district court Judge William Orrick ordered the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) not to publish undercover video taken at the National Abortion Federation’s (NAF) annual meetings in 2014 and 2015.

CMP has released five undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s program of selling aborted babies’ body parts—and they promise that more videos are on the way. But it may require lawmakers to get involved to allow the public to see the videos, based on the unfolding court battle.

NAF is a professional association of abortion providers who are dedicated to making “reproductive choice a reality” according to its website. A quick Google search reveals all types of information already available about its annual meetings and the presentations made there. For example, an organization called Gynuity Health Projects describes the panels on which its staff participated at the 2015 NAF annual meeting in Baltimore, with subjects ranging from “Medical abortion service provision: How low can we go?” to “Can we omit the screening ultrasound before medical abortion?”

CNN's Camerota to Planned Parenthood Exec.: Any 'Soul Searching' After Videos?

CNN's Alisyn Camerota actually pressed Planned Parenthood executive vice president Dawn Laguens on Tuesday's New Day over the controversy surrounding the abortion organization's sale of organs and other tissues from aborted babies. Camerota wondered, "As a result of these [undercover] videos...is there any soul searching that's going on in Planned Parenthood today – not, obviously, about the mission statement of what Planned Parenthood does – but, perhaps, about the method or the means of talking about it?" [video below]

The anchor also spotlighted how "even Hillary Clinton...even people in the Democratic Party have called these videos disturbing." She also noted that "it does appear, from the snippets that have seen in the public, as though something unscrupulous is happening." However, the journalist didn't go as overboard as she did with pro-lifer David Daleiden over an hour later, as she brought up how "critics of your organization...say that you're not journalists, as
you purport to be on your website, but rather, you're violent extremists."

Fifth Planned Parenthood Video Turns To 'Intact' Fetuses

A Planned Parenthood official discusses the procurement and cost of "intact" fetuses and altering abortion procedures to meet specific needs in a video released Tuesday by an anti-abortion group.

In the fifth of a series of videos from the Center for Medical Progress, a woman identified as Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, discusses contributing to the organization's "diversification of the revenue stream" and the potential to "get creative" with conditions for procurement needs. The video was reportedly filmed in April at a Planned Parenthood facility in Texas.
"Just depending on the patient's anatomy, how many weeks, where it's placed in the uterus ... we're going to potentially be able to have some that will be more or less intact and then some that will not be," she says.

So when Planned Parenthood found itself in the middle of a major scandal last week when anti-abortion activists released graphic undercover videos of executives discussing the alleged sale of aborted fetal tissue, Clinton’s support for the group was not so much a choice as a foregone conclusion — Planned Parenthood’s problem was Clinton’s problem, too.

For the second time in a week, Fox News Channel (FNC) host Bill O’Reilly turned to statistics from the “very accurate” Media Research Center to form the basis of a segment of The O’Reilly Factor concerning the major broadcast network coverage of the Planned Parenthood scandal with Thursday’s mention comparing it with the droves of coverage given to the shooting death of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe.

Nine More Undercover Videos Ready To Drop On Planned Parenthood

WASHINGTON — David Daleiden, founder of the Center For Medical Progress (CMP), told conservative talk radio host Sean Hannity Tuesday there are nine more sting-operation videos that reveal Planned Parenthood’s operations.

“We have close to 300 hours total of undercover video that was gathered during a 30 month long in depth investigative journalism study of how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of the babies they abort,” Daleiden said, noting that each highlight video released will have the full footage posted on their website without any edits.

CMP has already released three videos showing Planned Parenthood officials, personnel, and doctors discussing the harvesting of aborted baby parts. Congress proposed legislation Wednesday to defund Planned Parenthood’s abortion activity and moving the money to community health centers and hospitals instead.

GOP Leadership Prioritizes Corporate Welfare Over Defunding Planned Parenthood

It’s hard to believe what happened in Washington this weekend.

The U.S. Senate attached an amendment resurrecting a dead corporate welfare program to the highway bill while refusing to even allow a vote to end taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.

Conservatives have been fighting to stop the Export-Import Bank, which is a taxpayer-financed bank that loans billions of dollars to foreign companies and countries to buy products from big corporations like GE, Caterpillar and Boeing. Last month, they were successful in preventing it from being reauthorized, sending the company into liquidation. The CEO of Boeing even stated that the Export-Import Bank wasn’t needed.

Newsbusters: Reporters Can't Be Out Of Questions For Planned Parenthood

Last Monday, Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist found a noticeable "lack of ferocity" on the Planned Parenthood tapes in the liberal media. So she composed a long list of questions incurious reporters should be asking if they somehow thought the story was prematurely exhausted. (Remember when they mocked George W. Bush as incurious?)

Hemingway also did a little Nexis searching to show how aggressively these same outlets could explore the issue of the Confederate flag, which isn't involved in selling the body parts of dead babies, but draws more outrage from "objective" reporters (this was before the second tape, which was mostly ignored):

AUSTIN — A second undercover video appears to show a Planned Parenthood official discussing reimbursement fees associated with fetal tissue procurement and donation, prompting Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to call for an expanded investigation into the organization.

The latest hidden-camera video from the anti-abortion group The Center for Medical Progress shows a woman identified as Dr. Mary Gatter, Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Medical Directors’ Council president, meeting with investigators posing as representatives of a tissue procurement company.

Abbott said the new video “is more than just callous and morally bereft, it may be criminal.”

“The video appears to directly contradict Planned Parenthood’s statement last week that they do not earn a profit for selling body parts. Today’s new grotesque revelations necessitate that Texas expand its investigation into this abhorrent practice,” said Abbott, a Republican.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Planned Parenthood told Congress Monday that a secretly recorded video released last week by an anti-abortion group is fraudulent and part of a years-long pattern of illegal harassment aimed at prohibiting abortion.

In a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Planned Parenthood said it fell victim to a fake company called Biomax Procurement Services that posed as a buyer of human tissues. It was actually created by David Daleiden, an official of the group that released the video, and was engaged in "a campaign of corporate espionage" targeting Planned Parenthood, the letter said.

New Video Shows Another Planned Parenthood Doctor Haggling Price of Baby Body Parts

In the second video released today by the Center for Medical Progress, yet another senior medical adviser to Planned Parenthood of America appears to negotiate the price of selling baby body parts to actors playing entrepreneurs from a start-up biotech firm.

Dr. Mary Gatter, President of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Director’s Council, is asked, “What would you expect for intact tissue?”

Gatter starts to haggle immediately, “Why don’t you start by telling me what you’re used to paying?”

When pushed for a number, Gatter says, “Well, you know in negotiations the person who throws out the figure first is at a loss, right? So…”

When pushed again for how much her Planned Parenthood affiliate is willing to sell baby body parts for, she responds, “Okay, $75.”

When the buyer tells her that number seems low Gatter responds, “I was going to say $50.”

Then the buy offers her $100 to which Gatter quickly responds, “Okay.”

When an undercover video of a Planned Parenthood executive casually discussing the harvesting of fetal tissue and organs went viral Tuesday, House Republicans took notice, with party leaders calling for investigations just one day later. Speaker John A. Boehner and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy issued terse statements, the Judiciary and Energy and Commerce committees announced hearings and Rep. Lynn Jenkins, R-Kan., called for a Justice Department probe into whether the nation’s largest abortion provider broke the law in supplying the tissue to medical research firms.

All in all, it was a furious, news-cycle dominating flurry of Capitol Hill reaction — to a video that at least two top Republicans said they first saw weeks ago.

An antiabortion group on Tuesday released an undercover video of an official at Planned Parenthood discussing in graphic detail how to abort a fetus to preserve its organs for medical research — as well as the costs associated with sharing that tissue with scientists.

Over lunch at a Los Angeles restaurant, two antiabortion activists posing as employees from a biotech firm met with Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical research. Armed with cameras, the activists recorded Nucatola talking about Planned Parenthood’s work donating fetal tissue to researchers and pressed her on whether the clinics were charging for the organs.

The Free Market Argument For Defunding Planned Parenthood --No brainer

Set aside your moral evaluations of abortion and views on the true purpose of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Instead, let’s take a step back for a moment and take on this social issue from a different perspective.

You don’t have to be a social conservative to support defunding Planned Parenthood. You just need to be a free market advocate.

It’s no secret that the government continues to love private sector subsidies despite plenty of evidence that the market is better at making these decisions than bureaucratic administrators (e.g., Solyndra and last year’s Fisker debacle). PPFA is another example of the government picking winners and losers — the company and its affiliates receive roughly $66 million a year via Title X funding according to PPFA’s Washington office. Back in fiscal year 2012, PPFA received a record number of $542 million in taxpayer support, which includes Medicaid. That was up 11% from 2011 and a whopping 34% from 2010.

Those numbers aren’t something to scoff at and taxpayers are footing the bill for another company that has a chance to sit back rather than compete.

“But,” the skeptic interjects, “why are you talking about PPFA like a private sector organization?”

Yes, PPFA is a non-profit organization unlike the two subsidy recipients cited in this piece. But when 82% of PPFA’s revenue comes from donations (refer to p. 18 of PPFA’s 2012-2013 report), that $66 million a year starts to look pretty paltry. While many states have very strict regulations on opening abortion clinics, there are no laws truly stopping anyone from providing abortions. An independent clinic can open, OBGYNs can offer the same services as PPFA (including offices that accept Medicaid), and so on.

“But what about their low-cost services for those of lesser means?” one may protest. “If one cuts PPFA’s federal subsidy, they’ll be left in the dust!”

Let’s look at this way:

Note that Medicaid isn’t factored in to that $66 million subsidy.

PPFA has name recognition that puts millions of private companies and NPOs to shame. That will keep the donations flowing.

In a free market setting, PPFA will need to keep those low prices for consumers in order to attract the same level of business. The demand for birth control, STD treatments, and abortions isn’t going away — and if PPFA is offering the lowest prices, they’ll keep their business.

And, heck, if you’re worried about access to abortion, making PPFA compete in the same manner as any other private or NPO clinic will force the organizations in question to up the quality and lower the prices as best they can. Eventually this leads to more accessibility across the board.

Out: First Amendment protections guaranteeing religious liberty. Oh, and the right to free association. In: The inalienable right to have strangers pony up for your sex life.

Welcome to our new constitutional order, if some major American newspapers and left-leaning sites have their way. In the view of The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and left-wing blogs, Christian business owners are trying to take away the right to contraception, by asserting their right to religious liberty.

With the Hobby Lobby case coming before the Supreme Court Tuesday, March 25, the usual suspects of social liberalism have been up in arms. Over 50 businesses have filed a brief against the HHS Mandate which requires businesses with over 15 employees to provide employees with insurance plans that cover all types of contraception, including abortifacients. According to the media, the notion that pro-life business owners would contest this is “absurd” “bigotry” and “religion run amok.”

So we get to hear from America’s most famous consumer of birth control and Obama’s favorite student Sandra Fluke, along with abortion activists Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood, NARAL President Ilyse Hogue. For good measure, the gay left weighed in too.
