Mary Landrieu Abruptly Ends Radio Interview
Elizabeth Crisp, Dec. 5, 2014, The Advocate
The three-term Democrat said the tea party is “taking this country in the wrong direction,” defended her vote for the federal Affordable Care Act, called state Sen. Elbert Guillory “a fraud” and capped it all off by abruptly ending the interview after 11 minutes.
On the federal Affordable Care Act, Landrieu argued with Crouere over whether the health care law is President Barack Obama’s signature legislation.

Liberal ‘Hell No' Caucus Rises
Burgess Everett, Nov. 19, 2014, Politico
It was a remarkable move for a group that has stood behind Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) over the years, as he sought to protect vulnerable moderates, like Landrieu and some of her now-ousted colleagues, from taking tough votes on divisive environmental, health care and social issues.

Liberal Senate Democrats united to block the controversial project, even though their imperiled Democratic colleague Mary Landrieu of Louisiana begged them not to at a Democratic Caucus lunch on Tuesday afternoon.

Senate Democrats Vote To Reject Keystone, Elect Bill Cassidy In Runoff
Jim Geraghty, Nov. 18, 2014, National Review
Keep in mind, most of her colleagues voted “no” even with the implied-but-never-quite-explicitly-stated threat of a presidential veto! And they still wouldn’t vote to give Mary Landrieu an alleged “accomplishment” before the runoff! Why are they so disinclined to help her out? What, does she owe them money? Do they owe her money?

Fail Mary: Senate Rejects Keystone Bill
Elana Schor, Nov. 19, 2014, Politico
Sen. Mary Landrieu’s bid to pass a Keystone XL pipeline bill fell short by the slimmest of margins Tuesday, leaving the $8 billion pipeline still on the table for the ascendant Republican Party to push the project to President Barack Obama’s desk in January.
The 59-41 Senate vote was just shy of the 60 votes needed to pass the bill, following a dramatic six days of whipping by the embattled Louisiana Democrat on an issue that almost all of Washington had expected to sit idle until next year.

Elbert Guillory And The Reverse Southern Strategy
Elbert Guillory has just shown us the way forward.
Guillory is a Louisiana state senator who caused a stir last year when he switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. That would not have been news if Guillory were white; in fact, he would have been pretty far behind the curve. But Guillory is black and represents a poor black district, which makes his spirited defense of the Republican Party much more significant.
Now Guillory is back with a stunning new ad which doesn’t just criticize incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu—Guillory supports her challenger, Bill Cassidy—but also dismantles the Democratic Party entire claim to the black vote.
his ad immediately needs to be given massive funding and run in a continuous loop on Louisiana television for the next month.
Guillory himself is exactly the kind of spokesman the Republican Party needs to recruit on the national level. He will be running for lieutenant governor of Louisiana next year, which should give him a good platform.
The power of Guillory’s message comes from a combination of the quiet dignity of his manner (he has an air of old-fashioned Southern formality), his roots in a down-at-heels black community, and the clear failure of the big promises made to blacks on behalf of the welfare state.

A Marine Corps Veteran, Chris Schiff, featured in a AFP ad, lost his insurance because of Obamacare and now pays over double every month in premiums with his new Obamacare insurance. He lives in Louisiana so the ad is targeted against Mary Landrieu, who had the gall to infer that the ad is false and, of course, blamed the Koch Brothers. He explains why she’s wrong below.
Megyn Kelly also asks Schiff if he believes his Commander-In-Chief lied to him about his insurance, and he says absolutely:

Many know the Koch brothers as the
Republicans’ biggest ally. But it wasn’t too long ago that the Kochs were actually
donating to the Democrats.
Yes, the Koch brothers have given
millions of dollars to both conservative and libertarian causes, but their PAC,
privately held by Koch Industries, also gave to Democratic candidates and
causes. The money is being spent on trying to influence the list of lawmakers
which includes Chuck Schumer, Mary Landrieu and Mark Pryor.

Democrats
can’t even agree whether Obamacare was the reason for their crushing loss in a
Florida special election Tuesday. Now picture how their messaging plan for
the health care law is shaping up for 2014.
Republican
lobbyist David Jolly’s victory over Democrat Alex Sink has many Democrats
privately worried and publicly split about how to talk about Obamacare.
A few
Democrats are advocating a drastic rhetorical shift to the left, by criticizing
their own party for not going far enough when it passed the law in 2010.
Other
Democrats plan to sharply criticize the Affordable Care Act when running for
re-election.
Many plan
to stick to the simple message that Obamacare is flawed and needs to be fixed
—a tactic that plainly didn’t work for Sink.
Taken
together, the Democratic Party is heading into an already tough election year
divided — instead of united — on the very issue Republicans plan to make
central to their campaigns.
