Black Voters In Ferguson Turn Against The Democratic Party

It’s been two months since Michael Brown was shot by police officer Darren Wilson, and while protests continue, some in the African American community are now channeling their anger into political action—and not for the usual party.

“Just because they’ve got the D next to their name, that don’t mean nothing,” Darren Seals told the Washington Post. “The world is watching us right now. It’s time to send a message of our power.”

Many African Americans in Ferguson and across St. Louis County, angered over their leaders’ response to the fatal shooting, say they will be taking their outrage to the ballot box and voting against a Democratic Party that has long been their automatic choice.
They are focusing on the St. Louis county executive’s race, which typically centers on matters such as the budget and sanitation but this year has become caught up in the unrest.
Earlier this month, a coalition of some 20 African American Democratic leaders called a news conference to endorse the GOP candidate, state Rep. Rick Stream. Armed with voter registration forms, activists like Seals have been roaming black neighborhoods urging people to vote for anyone but the Democrat.

Only 25 Percent Think Hillary Would Be Better President Than Obama

Hillary Rodham Clinton
Leah Barkoukis, Sept. 25, 2014, Townhall.com

While at this point it’s all but certain Hillary Clinton will run for president, a new poll doesn’t bode well for the former secretary of state.

According to a Rasmussen Reports survey of 1,000 likely voters, only 25 percent think she’d be doing a better job than President Obama, while half believe she’d be doing roughly the same, and 10 percent felt she’d be even worse.

Just 25% think Hillary Clinton who lost the 2008 Democratic nomination to Obama would be doing a better job today. But only 10% believe she'd be doing a worse job. Half (50%) think she’d be doing about the same.

Voters tend to think a Hillary Clinton presidency would be like the Obama presidency when it comes to the major issues and expect the president to endorse his former secretary of State. But they’re not so sure the two top Democrats like each other.

Although Mitt Romney has repeatedly said he will not run a third time, he told "Fox News Sunday" in an interview earlier this month that there's 'no question' he'd be a better president than Hillary.

I know, the last thing you’d expect from the Obamas is hypocrisy. Alas, I bring you yet another example, this time regarding school lunches. First Lady Michelle Obama has been widely criticized among hungry students across the U.S., a result of school meal nutrition standards that she successfully lobbied for in 2010. Twitchy has done a great job capturing the reactions and photos to some of these lunches and it’s not pretty (click here, here, and here for examples). But CNS News decided to dig a little deeper. What exactly are Michelle O’s daughters eating at lunch? Is it in any way comparable to the lunches in our nation’s public schools? Obviously, the answer is no:

With public school students using #ThanksMichelleto tweet photos of their skimpy, stomach-turning school lunches, I decided to look at what Michelle Obama's daughters are served at Sidwell Friendsschool, and it turns out the girls dine on lunches from menus designed by chefs.

While the Obama daughters have enjoyed dishes like chicken coconut soup, local butternut squash soup, crusted tilapia, they also get their fill of what Mrs. Obama might consider junk food.

This week, for example, they'll enjoy meatball subs, BBQ wings, and ice cream, in addition to chicken curry, deviled egg salad and the intriguing "Chef's Choice."

Sidwell Friends has even been rated the #1 School Lunch program in America.

Those in the pro-gun control camp believe that gun-free zone signs are enough to deter criminals. People with a little more common sense, however, understand that criminals are not law-abiding people to begin with and so it’s best to allow law-abiding citizens to carry inside establishments. When that right is taken away in favor of a sign, this is what happens:

You have to wonder if the CEO of Jack in the Box is kicking himself after making the decision to request all gun owners to leave their guns at home. It was not even 2 weeks ago that Jack in the Box essentiallybanned guns from their fast food joints, and now the third armed robbery has taken place since then.

According to Click2Houston, 4 men put on gloves and masks before walking into a Houston Jack in the Box, robbing the restaurant at gunpoint. The armed crooks robbed both employees and customers who were eating at the fast food place.

Who would have thought that criminals would break the restaurant’s policy? But at least they did not have any law abiding gun owners to try and stop them and make their job more dangerous. These gun owners would have to either leave their guns at home or eat somewhere else.

For this to happen for the 3rd time in about 10 days has to make one wonder if armed criminals are just targeting Jack in the Box since they know law abiding citizens will not be armed there. You can read about the 1st armed robbery at Jack in the Box that we reported here.

The whole gun-ban fiasco at Jack in the Box started with some gun owners who were open carrying at another Jack in the Box a few weeks ago. Anti-gun groups saw the pictures and were so outraged by it that they fabricated all kinds of lies about employees cowering in fear in locked coolers.

A jury in North Carolina on Thursday found that the University of North Carolina-Wilmington retaliated against criminology professor Dr. Mike Adams for his political and social views.

Adams, a Townhall columnist, explained last year that despite his track record of success at the university in terms of teaching, research and service, he was denied a promotion to full professor because of the views he advanced in his opinion columns. He described the promotion process as being “replete with procedural irregularities and with direct criticism of [his] columns and [his] beliefs.”
