Black Ferguson Residents Arm Themselves and Descend Upon White-Owned Business — The Reason Why Is Front Page Worthy

Jason Howerton, Nov. 28, 2014, The Blaze

A group of four black Ferguson residents reportedly armed themselves and descended upon a white-owned business following a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. But unlike many of the Ferguson demonstrators, the armed men were there to protect the business, not destroy it in protest.

The men told the Las Vegas Review Journal that they feel indebted to the white store owner, Doug Merello, who has given them employment over the years.

Sheriff’s Tough Message To Obama Goes Viral: ‘Only You Are Singularly Responsible

Jason Howerton, Nov. 20, 2014, The Blaze

Ahead of President Barack Obama’s highly anticipated immigration speech in primetime, Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones recorded a blistering message to the president urging him not to continue “deferring the crisis.”

In the video message, Jones begins by highlighting the tragic murders of Sacramento Sheriff Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff Detective Michael Davis Jr. by an illegal immigrant suspect who had been removed from the U.S. and returned repeatedly without “consequences.” The suspect, who has an extensive criminal history, also reportedly shot a civilian in the face.

Mia Love On CNN: Hosts Try To Make Win About Race--Mia Not Having It

Jason Howerton, Nov. 5, 2014, The Blaze

Conservative candidate Mia Love made history on Tuesday by becoming the first black female Republican elected to Congress. While it’s a major milestone, Love hit back against suggestions that her election victory was the result of her race or gender during a Wednesday CNN appearance.

CNN host John Berman asked Love a seemingly back-handed question aimed at Republicans regarding why it took so long for the party to elect a black woman. Love was clear that her campaign and victory had “nothing to do with race.”

Berkeley Students Protest Speech by ‘Blatant Bigot and Racist’ Celebrity

Bill Maher / HBO
By Jason Howerton, Oct. 27, 2014, Theblaze.com

Some students at the University of California-Berkeley are petitioning to get comedian and talk show host Bill Maher’s planned graduation speech at the institution cancelled due to his “racist and bigoted” views on Islam.

Maher, who identifies with liberal and some libertarian views, has been an outspoken critic of radical Islam, accusing the left of being too politically correct on the subject.

So far, 1,925 people have signed a Change.org petition to stop Maher from speaking at UC Berkeley in December. The petition was reportedly created by two members of the Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian Coalition.

“Bill Maher is a blatant bigot and racist who has no respect for the values UC Berkeley students and administration stand for,” the petition states. “In a time where climate is a priority for all on campus, we cannot invite an individual who himself perpetuates a dangerous learning environment. Bill Maher’s public statements on various religions and cultures are offensive and his dangerous rhetoric has found its way into our campus communities.”

Just Guess What Ferguson Police Found on Missouri Democrat Who Has Sponsored Several ‘Anti-Gun’ Bills…

By Jason Howerton, Oct. 21, 2014, Theblaze.com

Missouri state Senator Jamilah Nasheed, a Democrat who has sponsored several “anti-gun” bills in her state, was arrested Monday night during a protest outside of the Ferguson Police Department. However, it’s what police officers found on her that is raising eyebrows.

Nasheed was carrying a loaded 9mm handgun and extra rounds of ammunition, according to Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson. She also refused to take a breathalyzer test after officers determined she “smelled strongly of intoxicants,” sources told KMOV-TV.

Nasheed claimed on Tuesday that she was not intoxicated at the time of her arrest and emphasized that she is a legal concealed carry permit holder.

Police arrested and charged the state senator with failure to obey lawful order of police and manner of walking in the roadway after she and other protesters refused to get out of the street.

On Tuesday morning, Nasheed said it was a “symbolic arrest” to send a “message to the protesters that we can protest peacefully and that we must protest peacefully and that we want justice for Michael Brown.”

Charges Against Conn. Dem Damages Leftwing Argument That Voter Fraud Doesn’t Exist

Rep. Christina “Tita” Ayala (D-Bridgeport)
By Jason Howerton, Sept. 29, 2014, Theblaze.com

Police arrested Connecticut state Rep. Christina “Tita” Ayala (D-Bridgeport) Friday on 19 voting fraud charges. The Chief State’s Attorney’s Office said in a press release that Ayala allegedly voted in local and state elections in districts where she does not reside.

Ayala also allegedly fabricated evidence to investigators with the state Election Enforcement Commission, providing an inaccurate address to justify her voting in a district where she doesn’t actually live, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The voter fraud charges come after the Elections Enforcement Commission referred the case to the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney and recommended criminal charges in 2013.

More from the New Haven Register:

Ayala allegedly voted in various Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee elections, a municipal primary election and a state primary election between 2009 and 2012 in districts inconsistent with the location of her residence, according to the release. She is also accused of voting in the Bridgeport state general election in 2012 in a district where she didn’t live.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry Is No Longer Permitted To Carry A Concealed Handgun, Buy Guns Or Ammo

Texas Governor Rick Perry
By Jason Howerton, Aug. 26, 2014, Theblaze.com

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, is no longer permitted to carry a concealed handgun after being slapped with a felony indictment for alleged abuse of power, according to state law. Further, federal law also apparently prohibits the governor from purchasing firearms or ammunition.

The Austin American-Statesman brings up the federal law referred to as 18 USC 922(n):

“It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person (1) is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.”

Perry, who previously claimed he shot a coyote with a concealed firearm while jogging in 2010, is supposed to have his state-issued concealed carry license revoked if he still has one — at least until his case is concluded.

By Jason Howerton, May 23, 2014, Theblaze.com

Washington, D.C. rapper Wale publicly bashed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Friday for pressuring the Redskins to change their name, saying the senator is only attempting to “make a bigger name” for himself by exploiting race issues.

The rapper also reminded his 3.6 million Twitter followers that Reid once told reporters that President Barack Obama was an effective politician because he’s a “light-skinned” African-American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

“Same dude tht was talkin down on Obama bein a ‘light skinned’ with ‘negro dialect’ all the sudden is a crusader for what’s right in race,” Wale tweeted.

The rapper called Reid “sketchy,” adding that he likely doesn’t know “anything about [the] Washington team and I doubt he cares he just using a sensitive time to garner attention.”

Source:  Facebook / The Blaze
By Jason Howerton, Mar. 24, 2014, The Blaze
The superintendent of Springfield Public Schools told 970 WMAY on Monday that he doesn’t plan to remove a workbook that contains an outrageous definition of the Second Amendment, despite the outrage it has generated among parents.
The workbook, currently being utilized by seventh-graders at Grant Middle School in Springfield, Ill., teaches students that the Second Amendment gives people the “right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison.”
Superintendent Bob Hill told 970 WMAY that the workbook is not the only resource that provides a definition of the Second Amendment and argued that the interpretation found in the material teaches students “what happens with the right to bear arms in the context of 2014.”
He argued that “no place in the book does it portray that that is the Second Amendment — it’s a study guide summary of the Second Amendment and the impact of the Second Amendment on the lives of people today.” In “reality,” he added, some places do require the registration of firearms.

Hill also claimed the material is not “proselytizing” a certain political point of view and said removing the material at this point in time is “pretty unfair relative to what the teacher has going on.” Micromanaging teachers in the district by reviewing all material they want to teach, he said, would be insulting to educators.
