Iranian-Backed Hezbollah And Hamas Bolster Worldwide Terrorist Presence

By IPT News, Jul. 1, 2015, Investigative Project

While the West extends nuclear negotiations with Iran, the Islamic Republic continues to enhance its international terrorism infrastructure through its proxies. Hizballah has 950 active operatives in the Western European state while Hamas maintains 300 operatives, according to a German intelligence report summarized by the Jerusalem Post.

The number of Islamists in Germany rose from 43,190 in 2013 to 43,890 in 2014, the report said.

Radical Islamists are "the greatest danger to Germany...Germany is on the spectrum of goals for Islamic terrorists," said Hans-Georg Maassen, president of German's domestic intelligence agency – the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV).

The report's chapter on "Islamism and Islamic terrorism" reveals that "Hamas was successful" in organizing people beyond its main support base to participate in anti-Israel protests. There were "more Hamas- supporting events than peace demonstrations, and there was clearly public anti-Semitism" during last summer's war in Gaza.

In The Middle of Nuclear Negotiations, NSA Scraps Iran and Hezbollah As Terror Threats

By Katie Pavlich, Mar. 16, 2015, Townhall.com

If this isn't dangerous appeasement, I don't know what is. According to a report inThe Times of Israel, the National Intelligence Agency delivered a report to Congress that scraps Iran and Hezbollah from the terrorism list, citing the country's work against ISIS as one of the reasons why.

An annual report delivered recently to the US Senate by James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, removed Iran and Hezbollah from its list of terrorism threats, after years in which they featured in similar reports.

The unclassified version of the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Communities, dated February 26, 2015 (PDF), noted Iran’s efforts to combat Sunni extremists, including those of the ultra-radical Islamic State group, who were perceived to constitute the preeminent terrorist threat to American interests worldwide.

According to one Israeli think tank, the removal of Iran and its proxy Hezbollah from the list of terror threats, where they featured in previous years, was directly linked to the campaign against the Islamic State.

By Jennifer Griffin, Feb. 11, 2015, Fox News

As conflicts and civil wars rage across the Middle East and North Africa, a shadowy covert cell operating under the Iranian government is fueling the bloodshed.

Unit 190, a secret arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's Quds Force made up of about two-dozen employees, has for years smuggled arms to these conflict zones.

After an extensive investigation tracing the land, air and sea routes used by the Quds Force to move weapons to Hezbollah, Hamas and now the Houthis in Yemen, Fox News has also learned from western intelligence sources the name of the Iranian man who is a key player in Unit 190: Behnam Shahariyari, born in 1968 in Ardabil, northwest Iran.

According to western intelligence sources, Shahariyari runs a network of straw companies -- which skirt sanctions packing RPG's, night-vision equipment and long-range rockets in powdered milk, cement and spare vehicle parts.

Hezbollah Under Pressure To Act After Alleged Israeli Strike On Golan Heights

Reuters, Jan. 23, 2015, Jerusalem Post

Hezbollah considers the Jewish state its main enemy. But its fighters in the Syrian province of Quneitra, where the supposed Israeli attack took place, have turned a blind eye to the presence of Israeli soldiers across the border there.

Israel has struck Syria several times during the present conflict, hitting weapons deliveries to Hezbollah, but the group has never acknowledged those attacks. This time the importance of those killed, in addition to Nasrallah's warning, make the latest raid difficult to ignore.

Iran And Hezbollah Are Planning 'Imminent' Joint Invasion Of Israel's Northern Galilee

Chris Pleasance, Jan. 20, 2015, Daily Mail

Senior Iranian politicians are said to be incensed at the death of Allahdadi, which they confirmed yesterday, saying he had been 'martyred' in the name of his country.

Officials also denied that he had been planning any kind of attack, instead saying he had been in Syria to advise the government on how to tackle extremists such as Islamic State, who control much of the country's north.

Iran General Killed With Hezbollah Fighters In Israel Raid

Sara Hussein and Serene Assir, Jan. 19, 2015, AFP

The attack on Sunday near Quneitra on the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan Heights enraged Hezbollah's supporters, but analysts said the group would avoid a major escalation with Israel.

Once solely focused on fighting Israel, Hezbollah is now deeply involved in the war in neighbouring Syria, where it backs President Bashar al-Assad.

Hezbollah Launches Drone Strike Near Syrian Border

By Washington Free Beacon Staff, Sept. 22, 2014, Freebeacon.com

Lebanese Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah has only used unmanned aerial vehicles for reconnaissance purposes–until now.

On Sunday, Hezbollah used unmanned aerial vehicles to bomb al Qaeda-linked militants in northeast Lebanon, the first time the group has used drones with attack capabilities. The group used drones to bomb Nusra Front targets in Arsal, a northeastern Lebanese town nine miles from the Syrian border, according to Iranian news agency Fars.

The report, which includes a video that shows the purported drone strike, shows Hezbollah using a weaponized drone, the first non-intelligence drone used by the group.
