The Third Intifada Is About The Post Two-State Future

Joel B. Pollak, Nov. 18, 2014, Breitbart

The two-state solution is, effectively, dead. It was mortally wounded long before today's terror attack on a Jerusalem synagogue, which marks a third intifada. The final straw came with the Gaza war this past summer, when Hamas rockets and tunnels showed why it would be insane to let Palestinians to rule more than a portion of the West Bank. The Obama administration's addiction to pressuring Israel has also destabilized diplomacy.

Man In Fox News Costume Beaten In California

Joel B. Pollak, Nov. 2, 2014, Breitbart

A California man dressed as a Fox News reporter was violently assaulted in the left-wing haven of Santa Cruz, California during the annual Halloween parade this weekend.

A 29-year-old man, Scott Kory, allegedly shouted "I hate Fox News!" before grabbing the victim's microphone, making an obscene gesture with it, and beating him with an aluminum tennis racket.

Report: Hamas Morale Collapsing, Terrorists Flee IDF

By Joel B. Pollack, Jul. 25, 2014, Breitbart.com

In an otherwise excellent article on the Hamas terror tunnel network in Gaza, the Jerusalem Post buries the lede. An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier in the field told the Post that while Hamas fighters offered fierce resistance when the ground operation began, now Hamas operatives are fleeing, abandoning their positions, leaving behind weapons and other material that the IDF is using to expand its assault on the terror group.

The source added that in recent days, a recognizable wave of demoralization has washed over Hamas's combat battalions. "They simply escape, leaving behind weapons and suicide bomb vests that were laid out for battle. This morning we stormed a position, and they just weren't there. I don't see a determined enemy. We have encountered stronger pockets of fighting in the past. But now, I would not give them a high grade for fighting spirit."

Using further eyewitness reports, the article describes how Hamas has integrated the tunnel network into the civilian infrastructure of Gaza, constructing entrances in homes and even mosques. "I have not entered one civilian home that did not have weapons, suicide belts, or booby traps in it," the source told the Post, stressing the lengths to which the IDF goes to protect innocent civilians caught in the crossfire, regardless.

PORT HUENEME -- Over 100 pro-amnesty activists from Southern California traveled to Naval Base Ventura County on Tuesday to stage a demonstration outside the gates to demand "humane treatment" for illegal aliens who have been transferred there from Texas by U.S. Border Patrol. The aliens, many of them unaccompanied children, are from Central America and crossed the U.S.-Mexico border as part of a massive recent migration.

The demonstrators represented a variety of backgrounds, from church and student organizations to left-wing political groups. They chanted, "No papers? No fear! Our children stay here!" and "All children matter! Let our kids stay!" Karen Gonzales, a senior at California State University Northridge, told Breitbart News: "As humans, none of us is illegal. The kids came here because their parents are already here, and to get away from violence."

Oxnard native Robert Cruz, 57, who served as a U.S. Navy corpsman and U.S. Army medic, carried an American flag and told Breitbart News that he was at the protest to show "we're a lot different than Murrieta." He added: "I understand that many would love to come here legally, but they are running away from violence. They don't have a say. This country was built by immigrants. Should we close our door? We stand for equality for all."

Asked what he thought of President Barack Obama's promise to deport children arriving illegally, Cruz said: "I think he should search deep inside his heart, and look at what he's saying and what he's doing. He'd be sending them back, possibly, to a death sentence.

"Would President Obama do that to his own children? Would he do that to his father's family from Africa? Would he send his nieces and nephews back to Kenya?"

The Los Angeles Times' Evan Halper documents what attendees at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference near Washington, D.C. also noted: namely, that there is a sharp rise among conservatives in enthusiasm for, and interest in, liberalizing marijuana laws. Conservative legislators are embracing a rising business constituency in marijana growers and dispensary owners, who are actively courting their interest.

Halper notes, for example, that some conservative lobbyists have found new careers as lobbyists for the marijuana industry. They have found a receptive audience with Republicans like Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), who was recently fêted at a fundraiser by the Marijuana Policy Project, which supports a bill co-sponsored by Rohrabacher's to prevent the federal government from attempting to override state laws on marijuana.

There is a distinctively California angle to the debate over marijuana. The state was among the first to legalize medical uses of marijuana--which are often abused, and which have sparked a backlash against proliferating dispensaries even in liberal cities. Now, as states like Colorado outpace California--and the rest of the world--in legalizing the drug, California's legislators debate whether the state should try to regain the reformist lead.
