Stephanopoulos To Kasich: GOP 'Ready to Accept' Caring About Blacks?

Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday scoffed at a claim by John Kasich that he would care about the interests of African Americans. The new presidential candidate appeared on GMA and asserted, "...If you're black, if you're brown, if you're struggling, we care about you and we're going to work to make sure you're included in the American dream."
A suspicious Stephanopoulos responded, "You think your party is ready to accept that message?" This is nothing new for Stephanopoulos. On May 13, 2007, he speculated that the racists would vote Republican:

The Fight To Defund Planned Parenthood: An Interview With Rep. Diane Black

The fight to defund Planned Parenthood is ramping up in Washington following the release of an undercover video showing a top official discussing prices for body parts from aborted babies.
In a statement released after the video, Planned Parenthood said the “heavily edited, secretly recorded videotape … falsely portrays Planned Parenthood’s participation in tissue donation programs that support lifesaving scientific research.”
The video led a group of lawmakers to call for the end of federal dollars flowing to the organization.

Any Clinton supporters who hoped that a New Hillary would emerge from Tuesday’s televised grilling of the Democratic presidential front-runner had to be brutally disillusioned.
The Hillary Clinton who showed up for her 19-minute back and forth with CNN political correspondent Brianna Keilar—touted as Clinton’s first one-on-one interview with a national reporter since she declared her candidacy three months ago—was the same Hillary Clinton the country has come to know over nearly a quarter-century on the American political scene.
Advertised by her associates as warm and funny in private, she came across as guarded, quibbling, and pokerfaced under the TV lights.
While her chief Democratic rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders—an unvarnished liberal who self-identifies as a Socialist—has been exciting huge crowds of thousands of voters in the nation’s first caucus and primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire, Clinton looked and sounded cagey and defensive, when her apparent goal is to inspire.

Hillary Clinton: 'People Should And Do Trust Me'
Iowa City, Iowa (CNN) In Hillary Clinton's first national interview of the 2016 race, she attacked her Republican rivals on immigration and dismissed the suggestion that the American people have a problem trusting her.
"People should and do trust me," she told CNN's Brianna Keilar.
She blamed the "barrage of attacks that are largely fomented by and coming from the right" for fueling a perception that trust is an area of vulnerability for her.
Clinton displayed little hesitation about attacking Republicans herself, saying that she is "very disappointed" in Donald Trump for his comments about immigrants and in the Republican Party for not condemning his remarks more quickly.

The Real Takeaways From The Halperin-Cruz Interview

Liberal media honcho Mark Halperin really showed his “colors” as he tried to de-Hispanify Sen. Ted Cruz in an interview for Bloomberg Politics over the weekend.
If you like arrogant, condescending, rude, insolent and patronizing Beltway journalism, you may appreciate Halperin’s performance. If you are a person of ordinary sensibilities, however, and not so intoxicated with the leftist worldview that you are incapable of dispassionately assessing the segment, you will have a different reaction.
What first struck me about the interview was not so much the objectively asinine questions Halperin asked but his obvious motive and attitude in asking them. Aside from a few throwaways, all of his questions were aimed at exposing Cruz as an inauthentic Hispanic. And as insulting as that is, there is something more noteworthy about it that some are missing in all the hubbub about the interview.
Halperin’s unstated premise underlying his questions is that one cannot have a bona fide Hispanic heritage if he doesn’t continue to bathe himself in the Hispanic culture and view American politics from a Hispanic prism. If you are ethnically Hispanic but have assimilated into American culture and embrace the American idea of government, you ought not be entitled to lay claim to your ethnicity or to receive support from the Hispanic community. Halperin and his liberal friends apply the same standards to assess African-American candidacies.
