FOX Sports: NFL Rejects Adrian Peterson's Immediate Reinstatement

The NFL has informed Adrian Peterson that his case will now be reviewed under the league's personal conduct policy, FOX Sports 1 NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports. The league has reportedly asked the Minnesota Vikings running back and his representatives for relevant information on his child abuse case and plea agreement.

Peterson has a right to a hearing before any discipline is levied, Garafolo reports. Until this review process is complete, Peterson will remain on the commissioner's exempt list.

Refs Say Colin Kaepernick Used Racial Slur

Needless to say, Colin Kaepernick had a game he'd like to forget after last week's 28-20 loss to the Bears.

The 49ers quarterback was responsible for four turnovers in the team's loss, but it was a curious flag that has also drawn attention.

After throwing an interception that set up a Bears touchdown, Kaepernick allegedly used a racial slur, according to the refs.

Kaepernick was fined more than $11k for the alleged slur, but denied saying anything.

Kaepernick reiterated that he did nothing wrong when he and Chicago defensive end Lamarr Houston went at it -- and Kaepernick points to Houston's comments that the quarterback didn't say anything offensive or out of line. Kaepernick shoved Houston after the play.

"It will be appealed," Kaepernick said. "I didn't say anything. Lamarr Houston said I didn't say anything. We're going to leave it at that."

Side judge Laird Hayes threw the flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Houston told the Chicago Tribune after the game that he hadn't heard anything from Kaepernick and that he had said something to the quarterback after the first of two late interceptions by rookie Kyle Fuller that helped rally the Bears.

"I said, `Nice pass,'" Houston said.

Clippers' Paul Might Lead Boycott If Sterling Remains Owner

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul has spoken with head coach Doc Rivers about orchestrating a boycott if Donald Sterling still owns the team when the 2014-15 regular season begins.

"That's something me and Doc are both talking about," Paul told ESPN. "Something has to happen, and something needs to happen soon -- sooner rather than later."

Added Paul: "We're all going to talk about it. We're all definitely going to talk about it. Doc, Blake [Griffin], DJ [DeAndre Jordan]. It's unacceptable."

Sterling came under fire when his racist comments in an audio recording went public during this past postseason, ultimately leading to a lifetime ban from the NBA and commissioner Adam Silver vowing to remove him from ownership.

During his testimony earlier this week in the trial that could decide whether Shelly Sterling can sell the Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, interim Clippers CEO Dick Parsons said he didn't think Rivers would return if there weren't a change in ownership.

Closing arguments in that trial are set for Monday.

After being labeled the "World's Worst Person" by Keith Olbermann Monday night for stating he would never have drafted Michael Sam -- pro-football's first openly gay player -- beloved football coach Tony Dungy has released a statement on Fox Sports in response to his critics.

On Monday afternoon while on vacation with my family, I was quite surprised to read excerpts from an interview I gave several weeks ago related to this year's NFL Draft, and I feel compelled to clarify those remarks.

I was asked whether I would have drafted Michael Sam and I answered that would not have drafted him. I gave my honest answer, which is that I felt drafting him would bring much distraction to the team. At the time of my interview, the Oprah Winfrey reality show that was going to chronicle Michael's first season had been announced.

I was not asked whether or not Michael Sam deserves an opportunity to play in the NFL. He absolutely does.

I was not asked whether his sexual orientation should play a part in the evaluation process. It should not.
