Rush Limbaugh Threatens To Sue Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

Patrick Howley, Nov. 10, 2014, Daily Caller

Limbaugh retained the services of lawyer Patty Glaser and demanded that the DCCC “preserve all records in anticipation of a lawsuit for defamation and interference” after the Democratic Party group led a campaign against Limbaugh based on out-of-context statements the host made about sexual assault. Limbaugh’s legal team delivered a letter to DCCC representatives Monday informing them of the legal threat. Limbaugh has also demanded a public retraction and apology.

The Limbaugh team is currently proceeding from the standpoint of litigating and has not yet made a decision as to whether the DCCC could make any concessions at this point to prevent the lawsuit.

Michelle Obama: In '14, We Need You 'Passionate And Hungry'

By Edward-Isacc Dovere, Jul. 27, 2014, Politico.com

In a new video recorded for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, first lady Michelle Obama says Democrats need to take this year’s midterms more seriously than they did either of her husband’s presidential elections.

The video, her first effort on behalf of Democrats beyond a few scattered fundraisers so far, launches the DCCC’s 1millionvotesfor2014.com website, timed to coincide with the 100-day countdown until the elections.

House Dems Suggest Obama Impeachment Is Imminent To Raise $

By Kellan Howell, Jul. 26, 2014, Washingtontimes.com

In a bid to bring in more campaign cash, House Democrats sent out a plea to donors to pitch in more funds to defend President Obama from a seemingly-imminent impeachment.

In an email notice, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee solicited immediate donations citing House Speaker John Boehner’s lawsuit against Mr. Obama.

“The White House announced yesterday that Boehner’s lawsuit could lead to the impeachment of President Obama,” the email read.

Boehner’s lawsuit against the President is more than a political stunt. It’s a full on attack on President Obama’s agenda, his legitimacy, and the Democratic process that elected him twice.”

The DCCC asked donors to reach into their pockets to smash their 100,000 donation goal saying, “We’ve had enough of it.”

The latest public campaign finance filings show that House Democrats are already ahead of Republicans in the election cycle.

The DCCC reported donations of $10.9 million in June, roughly $5.6 million more than the RCCC.

Democratic Congressman Steve Israel, Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, charged on Sunday that some of his GOP colleagues, as well as a "significant extent" of the GOP base, are racist, yet none of the broadcast networks picked it up on Monday evening.

On Sunday's State of the Union, CNN host Candy Crowley played a clip of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi accusing GOP obstruction of the immigration bill as partly based on race. She asked Israel if he thought Republicans on Capitol Hill were racist. "Not all of them, no, of course not," he replied, before attacking the GOP base. [Video below the break.]

By Justin Sink, Mar. 20, 2014
President Obama complained Thursday that Democrats “get clobbered” in midterm elections, blaming a “toxic” atmosphere in Washington for suppressing Democratic constituencies.
“The challenge is that our politics in Washington have become so toxic that people just lose faith,” Obama told a group of top Democratic donors gathered at the home of former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning. “They say, ‘Y’know what, it doesn’t matter, I’m not that interested, I’m not gonna vote.’ And that’s especially true during the midterms.”
Obama noted that young, female, black and Hispanic voters were more likely to vote in elections with a presidential contest.

“Suddenly a more representative cross section of America gets out there, and we do pretty well in presidential elections,” Obama said.

“But in midterms, we get clobbered, either because we don’t think it’s important or because we get so discouraged about what’s happening in Washington that we think it’s not worth our while. And the reason today is so important, and the reason that I’m so appreciative for all of you being here is because we’re going to have to get over that. This is a top priority.”
