Amy Berg’s “An Open Secret” may not come out and say “X Men” director Bryan Singer molested under age boys, but it’s certainly the impression that’s left with the viewer. The explosive documentary screened tonight at NYC DOCS to an emotional crowd with divided reactions. While the movie depicts carefully many examples of abuse– sexual, power, and otherwise– visited upon children by craven adults in the film business, it’s also going to be a field day for some lawyers.

It seems that Berg was working with Michael Egan for two years, she says, before as she puts it “he found a lawyer who thought he had a case” against Bryan Singer and three other defendants. The lawyer was Jeff Herman, who put on quite a show for the press. But by the end of this summer, the cases were dropped, settlements were paid. Berg was undoubtedly left high and dry by Egan, upon whose story she depended for the film. She went ahead it with it anyway. So Egan gets to press his story and accusations in “Open Secret” just Singer, Garth Ancier, Gary Goddard, and David Neuman thought they were in the clear.

Bryan Singer, Gary Goddard--New Sex Abuse Lawsuit --More allegations

 “X-Men: Days of Future Past” director Bryan Singer and Gary Goddard are the targets of another lawsuit, filed by an anonymous British teenager who alleges they sexually assaulted him.

 The suit is filed by Jeff Herman, the same lawyer who has filed four suits in the past two weeks. According to the Daily Beast, Herman intends to announce the suit at 2 p.m. Monday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. According to the suit, Goddard used social media to contact the teen when he was 14, telling him he was good looking and that Goddard could help him in Hollywood.

 The suit contends that nude webcam sessions began and, when the teenage was 15 or 16, Goddard insisted that they lay on a bed and kiss naked. When the teenager was 17, the suit alleges that at a “Superman” after-party, Singer had sex with him, despite his refusal. Reportedly, when the teenager refused, Goddard brought a “large, musclebound man” who smacked him around.

 According to the suit, Singer called him the next morning to apologize for “last night.” It reads that the plaintiff has only recently become cognizant of the “psychological and emotional injuries, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life” as a result of the alleged sexual abuse.

 Bryan Singer’s lawyer Marty Singer (no relation) told the Daily Beast that the allegations are “totally untrue.”

 “After the substance of Mr. Herman’s previous defamatory and fabricated filing in Hawaii was disproved based on unassailable evidence, Mr. Herman’s desperation has led him to fabricate these new anonymous accusations against Mr. Singer, which we will also prove to be completely false,” Marty Singer said.

X-Men director Bryan singer has hit back at claims he sexually abused a 17-year-old boy.

The 48-year-old director of the upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past - who was accused in a lawsuit of plying a then 17-year-old Michael Egan with drugs and alcohol and sexually abusing him in 1999 - has now slammed the allegations as a "sick twisted shake down".

In a statement, he said: "I do not want these fictitious claims to divert ANY attention from X-Men: Days of Future Past. This fantastic film is a labour of love and one of the greatest experiences of my career.

"So, out of respect to all of the extraordinary contributions from the incredibly talent actors and crew involved, I've decided not to particulate in the upcoming media events for the film.

Beleaguered X-Men director Bryan Singer has dropped out of an upcoming “Creativity Conference” in Washington, a source tells THR. The filmmaker, who is being sued by a 31-year-old man who alleges Singer sexually abused him in the late 1990s, was scheduled to appear along with Vice President Joe Biden at the conference, which is being co-sponsored by the Motion Picture Association of America, Microsoft and ABC News as part of the festivities surrounding the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Michael F. Egan, III has filed a lawsuit alleging Singer drugged and raped him and offered movie roles in return for sexual favors. At a news conference this week, he also alleged that his mother reported the alleged abuse to the FBI in Los Angeles in 2000. An FBI spokesman confirmed that a complaint had been made, but added, “The suggestion that the FBI ignored evidence involving the victimization of a child is ludicrous.”

EXCLUSIVE: In the wake of shocking allegations of sexual abuse against Bryan Singer that surfaced five weeks before the launch of the new X-Menfilm, Singer has cancelled a scheduled appearance at this weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, Deadline hears. Fox instead will sendSimon Kinberg as the studio prepares to launch the Singer-directed blockbusterX-Men: Days Of Future Past. Kinberg wrote and produced the film and has been a part of the X-Men universe since the beginning.

Singer had been scheduled to be on hand to do interviews for the film that Fox opens May 23. It seems fairly obvious that right now he’s not going to get the kind of questions that will help the movie, or that he could answer. Singer had been scheduled to representX-Men among a bunch of big Fox movies vamping this weekend, appearing along with Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman and director Matt Reeves from Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes; Jay Baruchel and writer-director Dean DeBlois from How To Train Your Dragon 2; and Dylan O’Brien, writer James Dashner and director Wes Ball from The Maze Runner.

EXCLUSIVE: X-Men director's sex abuse accuser is working with Oscar-nominated filmmaker on bombshell expose of Hollywood's sordid underbelly.
Egan added at the press conference: 'I had drugs put in my drink, liquor poured down my throat, (I was) raped numerous times in that house, various times (I was) sexually abused. There was a policy of no clothes by the poolside area. I was a piece of meat to these people.' 

The legal papers, filed in Hawaii, claims that Egan was put on the payroll for DEN, and paid $1,500 a week. It continues: 'Salaries of this nature were paid to many of the teenage males lured to the M & C Estate to have sex with the adults who resided there or visited there for recreational and business purposes.'
It claims that Egan was promised stock in DEN and given extravagant gifts, as well as being transported on private jets. He attended parties run by Collins-Rector and Shackley which were 'typically sordid and featured sexual contact between adult males and the many teenage boys who were present for the parties.' The boys were, the suit says, plied with drugs and alcohol.

It was two or three months after Collins-Rector allegedly began abusing Egan that he, it is claimed, he was introduced to Singer at one of the parties.

Egan was allegedly in the pool when Collins-Rector approached him and ordered him out to hug Singer. 

Egan says he was was nude, as per the rules of the house pool, so when he hugged Singer the director allegedly 'grabbed his bare buttocks'.

According to the lawsuit, Singer told Egan he was 'sexy' and went on to masturbate the underage boy and perform oral sex on him. The director then told Egan to do the same to him, but the then-minor says he resisted.

That allegedly caused Singer to push the boy's head under water. When he finally got up for air, Singer again demanded he perform oral sex and when he refused for the second time, Singer took him out of the pool and forcibly sodomized him, Egan says.

Now Egan is suing the director for $300,000 for the 'catastrophic psychological and emotional injuries' he says he suffered, the documents say.

The suit details how Egan was taken to Hawaii on more than one occasion when he was 17, where he was raped by Singer.

A Nevada man braved the media spotlight Thursday to publicly accuse “X-Men” director Bryan Singer of being a super villain who repeatedly sexually abused him when he was a vulnerable teen hoping to find fame in Tinseltown.

Michael Egan III, 31, charges that the filmmaker was part of a Hollywood band of gay men that plied young boys with drugs and booze and used the boys’ desire to catch a break in the industry to exploit them as sex toys.

“You were a piece of meat to these people and they’d pass you around between them,” Egan said at a news conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

“I can now stand in front of all of you today and say, I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse,” he added. “Some people don’t have a voice to say that. Some end up dead.”

Egan, whose lawyer filed suit against Singer in federal court Wednesday, was originally from Nebraska and came to Hollywood with his family in his mid-teens. His suit alleges that Singer sexually abused him between the ages of 15 and 17 in the late-1990s. The accusations include forced sodomy.

Famous Hollywood director Bryan Singer has been accused in a new federal lawsuit of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy.

The suit, filed Wednesday in federal court in Hawaii, accused the 48-year-old “X-Men” filmmaker of first preying on the 15-year-old aspiring actor at a party at a California mansion where underage boys were plied with drugs and alcohol and taken advantage of.

“The stories that I’ve heard of what went on at the estate are truly despicable,” the accuser’s lawyer, Miami attorney Jeff Herman, told the Daily News Wednesday night.

Herman identified the accuser as Michael Egan III. Egan, who is now in his 30s and will appear at a Thursday news conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in L.A., was forcibly sodomized by the director when he was 15 in the late-1990s, according to the suit. Singer had promised Egan a role in one of his movies and had numerous sexual encounters with the boy when he was 15 and 16, Herman told The News. Singer also allegedly brought Egan to Hawaii for multiple extended trips when he was 17.
