Thousands of angry students, parents, teachers and neighbors of a Florida high school where 17 people were killed demanded Saturday that immediate action be taken on gun-control legislation, insisting they would not relent until their demands were met.

The rallies in Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg gave a political outlet to the growing feelings of rage and mourning sparked by the carnage. Authorities say a former student who had been expelled, had mental health issues and been reported to law enforcement, used a legally purchased semiautomatic rifle to kill students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Hillary Clinton trounced Bernie Sanders in the key states of Florida and Ohio on Tuesday night, pulling away in the delegate race and delivering a full-throated call to arms against Donald Trump in her victory speech.
The former secretary of state appeared to be on the verge of a clean sweep of the five contests of the night. She also scored victories in North Carolina and Illinois. In the fifth state, Missouri, Clinton was leading by about 1,500 votes with all but two precincts reporting early Wednesday morning.

Florida Republicans Pushing For A Bush-Rubio Ticket

By John King, Mar. 29, 2015, CNN.com

Washington (CNN)A Florida "dream ticket," two nuggets about leadership questions in Congress and coming tests for Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich filled our final March trip around the "Inside Politics" table.

1. Another "Draft Warren" movement?

If you follow politics, you have heard this one: Liberals say Elizabeth Warren has to run for president because Hillary Clinton is too cozy with Wall Street.

And now that Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is planning to retire -- creating an opening in the top Senate Democratic job -- you are about to hear this: Warren has to run for leader because Chuck Schumer is too cozy with Wall Street.

The senator from Massachusetts is likely to give the same answer as she did on a presidential run, but Jackie Kucinich of The Daily Beast says the liberal clamoring tells us something about anxiety on the left.

"What this does show is there is a lot of skepticism with the base with Chuck Schumer, because he's so close to Wall Street, and it's an issue they've really been hammering on," Kucinich said.

Mass Shooting In Panama City Beach

By BigNewsNetwork.com, Mar. 29, 2015

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida - Seven students in their early 20s, many of them on spring break, were shot in a Panama City Beach, Florida home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen described the scene at the house on the town's main thoroughfare, Thomas Drive, as "complete chaos."

Three of the 7 people shot were inside the home, one was outside, one was in the middle of the road, and two were on the other side of the road. It is understood there was a party in the house and many people were dancing when a lone gunman began shooting.

"We have about 100 witnesses or so that we are trying to separate and interview," McKeithen told WMBB. "We have a mess."

Deputies from 5 nearby counties and officers from the Florida Highway Patrol and Panama City Beach police were also on the scene.

Three of the victims were from Alabama AM University who were visiting Panama City Beach for spring break, while another 3 were from Mobile, Alabama.
