Muslim Groups Seek To Co-opt Ferguson Says Watchdog Group

Using social media, conference calling and traditional outreach methods, leaders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are portraying Brown and Detroit mosque leader Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah as African-American victims of police targeting, according to the Washington-based Center for Security Policy (CSP). In a conference call organized by CAIR-linked "Muslims for Ferguson, a CAIR official called Abdullah a “Shaheed,” or martyr, and said both he and Brown were victims of a national security apparatus that had “completely gone wild” and engaged in “demonizing and criminalizing Muslims.”

CAIR Collects Millions From Foreign Donors Thanks To Non-Profit Shell Game

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) conceals donations from overseas through a series of shell organizations, according to documents from court actions involving the Muslim advocacy group.

Since its founding in 1994, CAIR has presented itself to American Muslims and the media as a single organization centered on American concerns. But it shows a different face to the IRS, with multiple corporate entities that conceal the large financial donations that come to CAIR from Middle East sources.

As a registered lobbying group, CAIR is required to report to the IRS contributions over $5,000. Its shifting 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) branches, however, make it possible to collect millions of dollars from oil-rich Muslim nations without disclosure. Documents show CAIR has received millions of dollars in overseas contributions and tens of millions in pledges from overseas.

CAIR’s convoluted structure and funding machinations are dizzying. Today, the original Council on American Islamic Relations doesn’t exist at all. In June 2013,CAIR changed its name to the nondescriptly named Washington Trust Foundation, Inc. (WTF).

“Plentiful legal evidence, acquired in the course of a lawsuit—plus CAIR’s own official filing documents to the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) and IRS—make clear that CAIR has engaged in a thinly-disguised money laundering operation,” David Reaboi, vice president for strategic communications at the Center for Security Policy, told The Daily Caller.

“In addition to violating its 501(c)(3) regulations, CAIR’s undisclosed and hidden foreign donations amount to violation of the Foreign Agent Registration Act as well,” Reaboi continued.

Sharpton To Headline Hamas-Front Fundraiser

A radical nonprofit Islamist group the FBI has banned from its Muslim outreach activities as a suspected terror front will feature a key White House adviser at its annual fundraising banquet Saturday in Washington.

Rev. Al Sharpton, a close Obama adviser, will headline the event sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a suspected Hamas front group whose executive director has recently come under NSA surveillance. CAIR lists Sharpton as its “keynote speaker” on its website.

CAIR and Sharpton share a common cause in lobbying Congress and the administration for a ban on racial and religious profiling by law enforcement.

In recent years, Sharpton and CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad have pledged solidarity on the issue of civil-rights.

Awad, who’s the subject of an ongoing federal investigation into his ties to Hamas, joined Sharpton at last month’s funeral for Michael Brown, the black teen who was shot to death by police in Ferguson, Missouri. Awad has called on Muslims to join African-Americans in protesting the case.

Sharpton, for his part, has said Washington can’t support civil rights for blacks without doing the same for Muslims. He’s argued that the “same haters” who burned crosses on the lawns of blacks in the South are “burning Qurans today.”

GUEST COLUMNIST: Has U.S. Muslim Leadership Truly Condemned The Beheading Of James Foley?

Google the words “imam condemns Foley beheading.”

The results are basically zero. Sure, some groups like CAIR halfheartedly mumble something, some sort of qualified rebuttal more than a condemnation. But other than a mufti in Bosnia and some imam in Australia (who didn't really condemn it, rather wrung his hands at the fact that it will generate bad publicity for Mohammedans), not a peep from imams, ayatollahs and Islamic prelates -- zip, nothing.

I understand why there's no condemnation from imams in Muslim countries. They don't want to lose their jobs and/or their heads, but in the U.S. not a word from some major mosque’s imam anywhere?

During the three years I lived in the greater Philly/New Jersey area, the number of mosques there went from a handful to hundreds. Ditto in Baltimore. And across the country.

Once again, if you filter out the Islamic advocacy groups, and occasional lone Muslim civilian who speaks out, there is not an imam anywhere saying anything remotely useful. How about a mosque imam in San Diego or Phoenix putting out a statement along the lines of “any Muslim who beheads a non-believer does not go to heaven”? Or, if that's too harsh for the flock, how about “Muslim beheaders will only get 27 virgins in the afterlife, so quit doing this stuff if you want all 72”?

It just drives me bonkers that people insist on distinguishing Islam from “radical Islam.” Hundreds of millions of Muslims worship “radical Islam.”

The only way to really be a non-radical Muslim is to not “practice” the doctrine.

The president says “the world” is appalled, but this must be a typo. While 75 percent of the world is somewhat appalled, 300 or 400 million Muslims are celebrating. And we have no idea what their one billion or so silent brothers think about the matter.
