TV Ratings: Caitlyn Jenner Loses Half of Her Audience in Week 2

By Michael O'Connell, Aug 04, 2015
Hollywood Reporter

A confident Donald Trump declared Sunday he will win the African-American and Hispanic vote and that Obama has done "nothing" for "African-American citizens of this country."

On ABC's "This Week," Jon Karl asked Donald Trump about a tweet from last year, where the Republican candidate wrote: "Sadly because Barack Obama has done such a poor job as president, you won't see another black president for generations."

"What did you mean by that?" asked Karl.

Obama "has been a very poor president," said Trump. "I think he has done a very poor job as president. We have 18 trillion dollars in debt and going up rapidly, rapidly ..."

Caitlyn Jenner Comes Under Fire From Transgender Friends For Being Too Conservative

By Mike Larkin, Aug 01, 2015 Daily Mail

She has become a national icon of gender politics.

But now it seems Caitlyn Jenner could be coming under fire from fellow transgender women due to her self-confessed conservative views.

The hardcore Republican lands in hot water in the latest traliler for I Am Cait, after complaining about overly generous social programs while discussing how to address the problems people in their community face.

Caitlyn says: 'Don't a lot of times, they can make more not working with social programs than they actually can with an entry-level job.

'You don't want people to get totally dependent on it. That's when they get in trouble

'"Why should I work? I got a few bucks, I got my room paid for."'

The 65-year-old's criticism of welfare infuriates his fellow ladies, with one claiming the former Olympic gold medalist, who is worth an estimated $100 million, has spent to long living 'in the bubble' to understand the less fortunate.

D.L. Hughley on Caitlyn Jenner

By TMZ Staff , July 17, 2015 TMZ

D.L. Hughley thinks it's absurd the legacy of Arthur Ashe lives on in Caitlyn Jenner, who simply "put on a dress."
Hughley was in NYC Thursday and was as clear as he could be ... it's a travesty that the ESPYs passed over Lauren Hill (the college basketball player who passed away this year from cancer) in favor of Caitlyn.
The comedian didn't stop there, trashing the way Jenner looks, comparing her to a Robin Williams character.

And D.L.'s incredulous that members of the media dare to describe Serena Williams as man-like when, as he puts it, Caitlyn looks like a P.E. teacher.

Did Jenner’s Representatives approach ESPN And Suggest The Ashe Award?

Entertainment, July 16, 2015 CBS Local

LOS ANGELES (CBSNewYork/AP) — Caitlyn Jenner accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on Wednesday night while urging acceptance for others who are transgender.

She received a standing ovation from some of the sporting world’s biggest stars after her 10-minute speech during the annual awards honoring the year’s top athletes and moments.

“This transition has been harder on me than anything I can imagine,” said Jenner, who revealed she was in the process of becoming a woman in a televised interview with Diane Sawyer in April.

Bob Costas: Caitlyn Jenner Receiving Arthur Ashe Award A ‘Crass Exploitation Play'

By CBS Connecticut, Jun. 9, 2015

BRISTOL, Conn. (CBS Connecticut/AP) — Legendary sports broadcaster Bob Costas is not a fan of Caitlyn Jenner receiving the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYS next month.

Speaking to “The Dan Patrick Show” on Monday, Costas called it a “crass exploitation play.”

“It strikes me that awarding the Arthur Ashe Award to Caitlyn Jenner is just a crass exploitation play – it’s a tabloid play,” Costas said. “In the broad world of sports, I’m pretty sure they could’ve found someone – and this is not anything against Caitlyn Jenner – who was much closer actively involved in sports, who would’ve been deserving of what that award represents. That’s not to say it doesn’t take some measure of person courage to do what Caitlyn Jenner has done.”

ESPN has received some criticism from the online world about giving the former Olympian the award for coming out as a transgender woman. Some critics championed Lauren Hill, the Mount St. Joseph basketball player who died from brain cancer at the age of 19.

Media Dimwits Celebrate "Courage" of Caitlyn Jenner While Ignoring True Hero Chris Kyle

By Daniel John Sobieski, Jun. 5, 2015, Director Blue Blog

One gets the impression that if Amir Hekmati, the former United States Marine still imprisoned in Iran were gay, transgendered or a deserter, President Obama, who tweeted to the former Olympic champion and now Vanity Faircover girl Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner: “It takes courage to tell your story.”

BizPac Review noted how quickly and for what reason President Obama sprung into action after Caitlin’s cover:

“It takes courage to share your story,” the president tweeted in response to Jenner, who broke the president’s record for fastest new Twitter account to reach 1 million followers.

Never on to miss an opportunity to push the progressive agenda, Obama tweeted three minutes later, asking other lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders people to tell their tale (because they’re not in the news enough these days).

How A Massive Silent Cultural Revolution Has Changed America

By Kyle Smith, Jun. 6, 2015, NYPost.com

It happened without a Summer of Love, without Timothy Leary, without a groovy anthem or a shaggy new national look. In the past decade or so, there’s been a silent revolution in American culture, one at least as profound as the ’60s upheavals.

We’ve hardly taken notice of it, because it happened in people’s minds instead of in the streets, happened in ordinary people instead of in the elites and the punditocracy.

Compared to just a few years ago, we have a completely different set of ideas about what constitutes acceptable behavior. As Caitlyn Jenner puts it in her new reality show, “I’m the new normal.”

Consider America circa 2002: Not that different from today, seemingly. A time traveler who spent a few hours walking around your town then and now might have a difficult time filling a small notebook with observations about what’s changed. Maybe there are more Starbuckses. And what happened to Blockbuster Video?

Yet support for gay marriages to be treated the same as straight ones went from 39% just nine years ago to 60% today, according to Gallup. As recently as 2010, a clear majority opposed gay marriage. Today, a large majority support it.

Why Caitlyn Jenner Is The Most Shameless Kardashian Of Them All

By Robert Rorke, Jun. 3, 2015, NYPost.com

With precise timing and careful orchestration, Bruce Jenner turned his transformation to Caitlyn into a publicity stunt.

Anyone who sees it differently isn’t thinking clearly.

Caitlyn is an attaché of the monstrous Kardashian publicity machine, which has bankrolled an entire network, put the national media in a stranglehold, and persuaded an entire generation of adoring fans to embrace its relentless banality.

The former Olympic athlete has shown them all — especially ex-wife Kris, the family’s master puppeteer — that she’s beating the Kardashians at their own game.

Her transformation on the July cover of Vanity Fair — from Bruce, a hulking, ruddy-faced guy in a ponytail and sweatpants, into Caitlyn, a 1950s-style bathing beautywhose imperfections have been smoothed over through the wizardry of modern graphic design — has been carefully crafted into guaranteed newsstand gold: She’s a product, the most glamorous Kardashian of them all.
