NYC Mayor De Blasio’s NYPD Blahs

Arthur Schaper, Jan. 1, 2015, Townhall

Outspoken in his criticism of anything conservative, de Blasio doubled down when New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo backed away from insulting, divisive remarks of true New Yorkers as antithetical to anything conservative (pro-life, pro Second Amendment, low taxes, high liberty, etc). Cuomo faces a hostile legislature, an unprecedented surge of Republican Congressmen in Long Island and Upstate York. However, De Blasio urges Democrats to stand fast on progressive principles.

Battered NY Mayor Calls For Temporary Protest Halt

Jonathan Lemire and Colleen Long, Dec. 22, 2014, AP

"We are in a very difficult moment. Our focus has to be on these families," de Blasio said at police headquarters. "I think it's a time for everyone to put aside political debates, put aside protests, put aside all of the things that we will talk about in all due time."

Obama's 'Propaganda' Pushed People To 'Hate The Police,' Giuliani Says

Justin Sink, Dec. 21, 2014, The Hill

“We’ve had four months of propaganda starting with the president that everybody should hate the police,” Giuliani said during an appearance on Fox News early Sunday. “The protests are being embraced, the protests are being encouraged. New York Post: Playing Racial Games

Michael Goodwin, Nov. 9, 2014

After New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton chose a  black man to replace another  black man as his deputy, a reporter asked Mayor de Blasio if the replacement “had to be a person of color.”

“No,” the mayor claimed.

That’s not a little white lie. This is a case where whites need not apply.

Across the land, racially charged disputes are grabbing headlines. Broad swaths of life, including school admissions, crime statistics, income and poverty levels, hiring and firing, are seen increasingly through the prism of skin color and ethnicity.

John Nolte, Apr. 2014, Breitbart.com

As predictable as the media silence to follow comes the news that New York City's new left-wing mayor, who ran on a platform based in large part on raising taxes, paid an effective 8.3% tax rate in 2013 based on a total income of over $200,000.

Mayor de Blasio and his wife made $167,047 in income, $52,000 in rental income on a second home in Park Slope, and reported charitable donations that totaled just 3% of their income, or $5,597.
