Israel And ‘Apartheid’: Dueling Tweets - By Larry Elder

By Larry Elder, Apr. 7, 2014

It is astonishing how casually people accuse Israel of engaging in “apartheid” in its treatment of Palestinian citizens in Israel or the treatment of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Fear of suicide (I prefer term “homicide”) bombings caused Israel to erect barriers in Gaza and West Bank.  Rockets fired in from Gaza remain a daily danger, and less frequently from southern Lebanon. Inside Israel, Palestinians are Israeli citizens who enjoy more rights and privileges than in any Arab and Muslim country.

I just had this exchange via Twitter:

Elder: Palestinians have embraced suicide bombing and victimhood to win a worldwide PR war -- all while refusing to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

B.M.: Israel advocates extermination of Palestine, but wants to be the moral authority on the situation. Noooo.

Elder:  I'm sure you'll provide a source for your assertion that Israel "advocates extermination of Palestine."

B.M.: My source is reality. Israel treats Africans in their country like shit and supports an apartheid government with Palestinians.

Elder: Blacks voted and served in Parliament under apartheid? An Arab sits on Israel's Supreme Court. Apartheid?!!!

B.M.: Yes, because table scraps but not 100% rights are okay. I am not impressed because they have one or two swimming in the masses.

Elder: So blacks could vote, travel and be on the Supreme Court under apartheid? And such civil rights are "scraps"? SMH.

And, please, no comments about his initials.

Larry only pawn in game of life.
