The Seattle Mariners say they are reviewing "all internal options" after backup catcher Steve Clevenger posted a pair of inflammatory tweets Thursday for which he later apologized.

Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said the team was "very disappointed" in light of Clevenger's tweets, which referenced the recent unrest following the fatal shooting of a man by police in Charlotte, North Carolina. One tweet said in part that "Everyone involved should be locked behind bars like animals!"
