Lefty HuffPo: ‘Serious People’ Agree Major Obamacare Hikes Possible

 he liberal website The Huffington Post, which once advised readers on how to avoid talking about Obamacare during Thanksgiving dinner, surprisingly confronted a serious problem for the Affordable Care Act recently. On June 1, HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps and Huffington Post senior national correspondent Jonathan Cohn talked about the unaffordability of Obamacare. In the segment, "What If The Affordable Care Act Isn't Affordable?," Cohn admitted that "rate increases look higher" for 2016 than in previous years, based on proposals that insurers were required to submit to the government by June 1. 

Companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico reportedly want to increase their premiums by as much as 50 percent. "It’s not clear, you know, where we’re going to end up," Cohn said. "But there are hints of it [substantially higher rates], enough that I think serious people are looking at this and saying, 'Yeah, that might be the case.'"

Colbert: Climate Deniers Don’t Know ‘What the F***’ They’re Talking About

Climate deniers apparently have a simple, albeit crass, message for the world: “We don’t know what the fuck we’re talking about.” 

At least, that’s what Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” and soon-to-be host of CBS’s “Late Show,” said during his show Nov. 6, 2014. Colbert was mocking Senator Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., who is soon expected to become chairman of the Senate U.S. Environment and Public Works Committee. 

Colbert said, “Everyone who denies climate change has the same stirring message: We don’t know what the fuck we’re talking about. I hope that these conservative leaders can inspire all the children out there watching to think to themselves, ‘Hey, maybe someday I could grow up to be not-a-scientist.'”

Obamacare Poised To Cause Insurance Cancellations, Networks Silent

According to Fox News and several print media outlets tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of people are about to be notified that their health insurance policies are being cancelled, thanks to Obamacare. That could mean bad news for liberals just weeks before 2014 midterm elections, except the broadcast networks have refused to report it. ABC, CBS and NBC news programs failed to mention the latest wave of policy cancellations as of Oct. 9. 

Fox News Channel’s chief national correspondent Jim Angle reported that because of Obamacare, hundreds of thousands of individuals will be notified sometime no later than Nov. 1, that they are losing their health insurance. 

Plans that could not meet regulations mandated under the Affordable Care Act will no longer be granted a reprieve in thirteen states and the District of Columbia and must therefore be canceled. 

Although President Barack Obama promised time and again, “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” many Americans found out differently in late 2013. The New York Times noted, “several million Americans were told that their insurance plans were not compliant with rules established by the Affordable Care Act.” Obama’s claim was named PolitiFact’s “lie of the year” in 2013. 

This year, “Virginia will be hardest hit, with 250,000 policies to be cancelled, in spite of a pledge from the Democratic senator running for re-election,” Jim Angle reported for "Special Report with Bret Baier" Oct. 8.
