Almost 300,000 people are trapped without food, water, and fuel in the beleaguered city of Aleppo in Syria.

Alessandra Vellucci, a spokesperson for the United Nations, told reporters that “the intensification of hostilities between government of Syria forces and non-state armed groups has rendered the Castillo road impassable, the only access in and out of eastern Aleppo city.”
