For an authority to say without context “Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid,” giving no timeline, no likelihood, but to say it unequivocally and dogmatically is irresponsible and what scientism is all about. Could? How strong of a could? There are billions of "could" scenarios. Floating any of them out there indiscriminately as authoritative is reckless, and ultimately unscientific. I expect more from the scientific community, to rise above the politics. Further scaring the liberal base isn't what's needed if there were indeed a real threat, but to explain to the overall masses why this is so.
