MALMÖ, SWEDEN — On the face of it, the decision to offer special women's swimming hours at the Hyllie sports center, a municipal swimming pool in the southern Swedish city of Malmö, should not be contentious.

Indeed, Malmö is not alone. According to a survey by the Swedish TV channel TV4, 13 of Sweden's 100 largest municipalities have begun offering separate swimming hours for men and women. “Our facilities are used by 40 percent women and 60 percent men,” Johan Hermansson, the head of Malmö's recreations department, told TV4. “Our ambition is for them to be used equally by girls and boys, men and women.”

Hillary Clinton is facing the problem of higher ObamaCare premium hikes in an election year.

ObamaCare premiums are expected to rise more sharply than they have in previous years, and Republicans are seizing on the issue for electoral advantage.

“Despite premium hikes under ObamaCare, Clinton continues to take credit for the law on the campaign trail,” the Republican National Committee wrote in a recent email, above a compilation of headlines about steep proposed increases.

NEW YORK -- Hillary Clinton has upended her campaign schedule, adding more stops in California, in an effort to prevent an embarrassing loss there to Bernie Sanders, her rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Clinton originally planned to campaign for two days this week in New Jersey, but at the last minute canceled an event on Thursday and will instead return to California for a five-day swing.

TOKYO/SEOUL (Reuters) - Japan put its military on alert on Monday for a possible North Korean ballistic missile firing, while South Korea also said it had detected evidence of launch preparations, officials from Japan and South Korea said.

There's something forced about Facebook relationships.

If someone "friends" you, you feel duty-bound to reciprocate. Even if that person is, well, entirely unknown to you.

That forced feeling can go too far.

As KSL-TV reports, residents of an apartment building in Salt Lake City, Utah, say they found a curious piece of paper stuck to their doors.

Headlined "Facebook Addendum," it had fascinating stipulations.

Hopefully everybody remember Sallenger’s “hot spots” of sea level acceleration along the East Coast of the US.

Asbury H. Sallenger Jr, Kara S. Doran & Peter A. Howd, Hotspot of accelerated sea-level rise on the Atlantic coast of North America, Nature Climate Change 2, 884–888 (2012), doi:10.1038/nclimate1597

This was one of the many examples of bad science misinterpreting the sea level oscillations by cherry picking the time window.

As 6 more years of data have been collected, let see if the hotspots are now the “hottest on record” or if they have cooled down.

President Obama's 2008 campaign pledge to improve the image of the United States around the world hasn't worked in Russia where a decae low of just 1 percent approve of American leadership, according to Gallup.

In fact, Gallup said that Russia's view of the U.S. is the lowest in the world and comes at a time when Moscow is flexing its military muscle in hotspots like Syria where Obama is struggling to use force.

Snoop Dogg has no plans to watch the Roots remake, and he's telling his fans to also boycott the show.

The rapper sent out his message over social media on Monday.

"I'm sick of this shit. How the f— are they going to put Roots on, on Memorial Day?" Snoop said in an Instagram video. "They going to just keep beating that shit into our heads about how they did us, huh?"

The History Channel revival is a four-part, eight-hour series that debuts Monday.

Snoop said he has no interest in new shows and movies — specifically mentioning 12 Years a Slave — that "keep showing the abuse we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago."

New video footage of Harambe the gorilla suggests he was trying to protect a four-year-old boy who fell into the zoo enclosure just minutes before the 400-pound animal was fatally shot.

The clip shows Harambe standing guard over the boy in the corner of the moat, and the two even share a brief moment holding hands

Witnesses said the gorilla was acting protectively in the tense situation, which may have been aggravated by panicked onlookers who screamed as they watched from above.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is moving along to satisfy the liberal wing of the Democratic Party by indicating proposed changes to the Democratic Party’s platform on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be addressed by the drafting committee ahead of the convention in Philadelphia.

According to a report by the Chicago SunTimes, one of Clinton’s appointees to the Democratic Party’s platform committee, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), is brewing with two of Bernie Sanders’ appointees, Cornel West and James Zogby, to show more sympathy to the Palestinian side of the conflict.

The Iraqi army has started an operation to storm Fallujah, where around 50,000 civilians are trapped in Isis's stronghold near Baghdad.

Troops backed by artillery and tanks entered the city from three directions in the early hours of Monday morning, commanders told the AFP news agency.

A Reuters TV crew reported hearing explosions and gunfire in Fallujah's southern Naimiya district.

Tucked away in Marcus Thompson of the Mercury News' excellent postgame story about Andre Iguodala's heroic defensive performance against Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in the Golden State Warriors game six win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the swiss-army knife wing revealed that it was a different defensive performance against another superstar that he was most proud of:

"Kobe in his prime," Iguodala said while hiding from the throng of reporters, preferring his teammates get the attention after Game 6.

The critical response to "Batman v Superman" reportedly took filmmakers and Warner Bros. executives by surprise, but at least one person involved thinks "Dawn of Justice" earned its poor reviews: Jeremy Irons.

"Deservedly so. I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter, but it was sort of overstuffed," the actor, who played Alfred Pennyworth, told Event Magazine. "It was very muddled. I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear."

It's unclear whether Irons was referring to "Justice League: Part One," in which he's already confirmed to appear, or the planned Batman solo movie, written and directed by Ben Affleck, who'll also reprise his role as Bruce Wayne.

Apparently Telemundo believes it is perfectly alright to stage events and film them as authentic. In fact, as you can see in the video below, the Telemundo cameraman admits to filmmaker Andrew Marcus of Rebel Pundit that he is indeed staging the event. In this case, two young anti-Trump protesters in San Diego yesterday were holding the Mexican flag upside down and the Telemundo cameraman gave them directions on the proper way to hold the flag. This is followed by a really nasty attitude by one of the protesters including spitting in the direction of Marcus. But, hey, that behavior is understandable because according to another protester, the poor lad is a "minor" and therefore not responsible for his actions.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Beer-buying Pennsylvanians are seeing a growing number of options where they can pick up a six-pack or two, though Pennsylvania still remains home to some of the nation's most restrictive beer sales laws.

This week, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board licensed nine more convenience stores that sell gas to carry takeout six-packs, despite a pending state Supreme Court case that could theoretically invalidate those licenses. In the meantime, it was another step toward loosening the control over takeout beer sales that, for decades, has been largely the province of bars and larger-quantity beer distributors.

The Obama administration’s decision to sue North Carolina for transgender rights is the latest example of the aggressive approach Loretta Lynch has taken as attorney general in her first year in office.

The first black woman to head the Department of Justice has earned both fans and critics since taking over for Eric Holder, her embattled predecessor, but neither side would argue she’s been meek.
