Higher Minimum Wage In Los Angeles Goes Into Effect Today

Starting Friday, Los Angeles area employers will begin paying a higher minimum wage under city and county laws that will eventually increase the minimum wage to $15 per hour.
Businesses with more than 25 workers are required to increase their minimum wage from the state-mandated $10 to $10.50 per hour. The city's law also require those employers to offer at least six days of paid leave benefits, which goes beyond the three days currently required under state law.

That is to say – about what the country has told us in terms so clear that they bowled over most of the principal players?

It is quite odd, when you think of it, how little attention is now being paid to the issue that is understood to be critical to the chaos in both major parties. This is presumably because it terrifies most serious politicians. Until Michael Gove’s speech on Friday launching his surprise candidacy, almost no one had made any significant comment about it at all.
