Donald Sterling Seeks His $1 Billion From The Sale Of The Clippers
Sterling’s attorney, Bobby Samini, filed court papers Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court stating that Shelly Sterling has ignored repeated requests for the information, so he now is asking a probate court judge who has authority over the Sterling family trust to rule on his client’s petition.
Samini maintains Sterling has a $1 billion community property interest in the sale.
Sterling filed for divorce from his wife on the same day the probate court papers were filed. They have been married for 60 years.
A hearing on Sterling’s accounting request is scheduled for Dec. 1.
The sale of the Clippers to Ballmer was finalized in August 2014, after several months of legal wrangling.
