This afternoon has seen a series of powerful speeches by Francois Hollande, the French president, and President Barack Obama. Mr Hollande told the French parliament in Versailles that if Europe doesn't control its external borders, it will see the "return of national borders or walls and barbed wire". Meanwhile the US president spoke at the G20 summit of world leaders in Turkey hitting back at criticism of his policy in Syria.
