A new poll released on the eve of the midterm elections shows Democrats with their smallest lead so far in generic congressional races.

Forty-three percent of registered voters would vote for the Democratic congressional candidate in their district, compared to the 40 percent who would opt for the Republican candidate, a Politico/Morning Consult poll out Monday shows.
