Kaci Hickox's Roommate In Africa Has Ebola

By Sarah Hurtubise, Oct. 31, 2014, Dailycaller.com

A Maine official said Friday that Kaci Hickox’s roommate while she helped Ebola patients in Africa has been diagnosed with Ebola, WAGM-TV reports.

“The respondent’s roommate in Africa became infected without knowing how she became infected with Ebola,” said Sheila Pinette with the Maine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adding that “any potential risk to respondent from that incident has passed.”

It’s also unclear exactly how Dallas nurses Nina Pham and Amber Vinson, the only two people to become infected with Ebola within the U.S., contracted the disease.

Hickox worked as a nurse treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone with Doctors Without Borders and was the subject of a forced, three-day quarantine in New Jersey when she registered a slight fever when she returned to the U.S.

Maine officials have requested that Hickox quarantine herself at her home until the 21-day incubation period for Ebola is up on Nov. 10, but she’s refused to cooperate. A Maine judge rejected the state’s request for a court-ordered quarantine on Friday.

Kaci Hickox, Self-Absorbed Hero

Kaci Hickox, nurse quarantined for Ebola
By Mark Davis, Oct. 30, 2014, Townhall.com

There is something uniquely jarring about a display of selfish insolence from someone who is so praiseworthy in other respects. Maddening traits usually come from maddening people, as their true character surfaces.

But the insults delivered to a concerned nation by heroic nurse Kaci Hickox are particularly hard to absorb, because the proper reaction of revulsion does not mix well with the sentiments we would like to be sending her way.

Those sentiments would be: We are so glad you are home safely, we pray for you to remain symptom-free, and most of all, we honor you for the courage you displayed in deploying to West Africa to help fight Ebola.

I’m sure the nation harbors exactly those attitudes about Ms. Hickox, but our outgoing warm thoughts have been doused by the waves of complaining she has treated us to since setting foot back on American soil.

Granted, her first days back in the U.S. were in a makeshift tent none of us would have enjoyed. Returning Ebola-fighters deserve better than to poop in a box.

FORT KENT, Maine — A nurse who vowed to defy Maine’s voluntary quarantine for health care workers who treated Ebola patients followed through on her promise Thursday, leaving her home for an hour-long bike ride.

Kaci Hickox and her boyfriend stepped out of their home Thursday morning and rode away on mountain bikes, followed by a state police cruiser.

It was the second time Hickox broke quarantine. She left her home Wednesday evening briefly to speak to reporters, even shaking a hand that was offered to her.

Hickox contends there’s no need for quarantine because she’s showing no symptoms. She’s also tested negative for the deadly disease.

‘‘I really hope that we can work things out amicably and continue to negotiate,’’ she said Thursday morning while riding on a dirt trail.

Ebola Quarantine Nurse's Ties To CDC Scrubbed From Web

By Mike Adams, Oct. 26, 2014, Naturalnews.com

(NaturalNews) Kaci Hickox, the nurse who was quarantined in New Jersey over her high risk status as a possible Ebola carrier, has ties to the CDC which have been deliberately hidden by the mainstream media.

Right now, a war is waging between states like New Jersey, New York and Illinois -- which have all decided to quarantine travelers at high risk of Ebola infections -- and the federal government which is adamantly opposed to border security, medical quarantines and travel bans.

Kaci Hickox emerged in the center of this debate just yesterday when she complained of being "interrogated" and held in violation of her civil rights. Kaci's LinkedIn.com profile, which described her links to the CDC, was scrubbed from the web earlier today, and even Google cache has strangely been cleared of her profile which previously detailed her ties to the CDC.
