In fact, the overwhelming majority of English language cable and broadcast networks that televised the event saw a significant improvement in viewership compared to opening night coverage of the 2016 Republican National Convention. Additionally, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News all set total prime time viewer records for opening night of a DNC, per Nielsen Media Research going back to 2004.
