A year after Michael Brown's death, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said she believes the attention the shooting cast on Ferguson gave a voice to people all over the country who have long felt they are not respected by authorities.

Lynch said she thinks the relationship between law enforcement and citizens in Ferguson, Missouri, have improved since Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer on Aug. 9, 2014, sparking protests in that town and nationwide. But, she said, "I believe that they are still undergoing a great change."

Andrea Mitchell Says Hillary's Private Server Was Used To Thwart Inquiries

Hillary Clinton had no legitimate reason to have a home-brewed email server as secretary of state and used it only to “thrwart” inquiries from Congress and the media, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell said Monday on “Morning Joe.”

“Nobody can give an explanation for why a cabinet secretary would have a private email system other than to thwart inquiries [and] FOIAs,” Mitchell said, recounting conversations she had with numerous intelligence officials at a security conference in which they discussed Clinton’s email arrangement.

The Democratic presidential candidate says she began using a private email server registered to her Chappaqua, N.Y. residence just after she became secretary of state. The server maintained private email accounts Clinton and several top State Department aides used to correspond.

Obama DOJ Plans To Investigate Group That Busted Planned Parenthood

The U.S. Department of Justice announced plans to investigate the group that produced undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood employees admitting that they harvest and sell organs ripped from the bodies aborted babies. Politico reported the news of the coming DOJ investigation earlier today:

JUSTICE TO PROBE CENTER FOR MEDICAL PROGRESS — While congressional committees investigate Planned Parenthood’s practices, the Justice Department agreed to look into whether the group that released the sting videos obtained the footage legally. In response to a request by House Democrats, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Wednesday afternoon that Justice would “review all of the information and determine what the appropriate steps moving forward would be.” Planned Parenthood has staunchly defended its practices and claims that the Center for Medical Progress illegally obtained its footage, then excessively edited it to misrepresent what the organization does.

Boehner Wants More ‘Facts’ Before Ending Planned Parenthood Funding--Here Are 8

WASHINGTON — Thousands of dangerous federal prison inmates will be released in November as a result of the U.S. Sentencing Commission’s decision to lower federal sentencing for all drug trafficking and distribution crimes, two Republican lawmakers warned Tuesday.

According to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, the release will include inmates with violent criminal histories who committed crimes involving assault, firearms, and even murder.

Goodlatte and Grassley sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch Wednesday asking for more information about these inmates including a history of offenses for each offender projected release date, any known aliases of the offender along with the full legal name, the offender’s country of citizenship, and whether BOP has notified or intends to notify ICE about the release of any unlawful criminal aliens.

Petition Calls For Attorney General To Investigate Sandra Bland’s Death

A ColorOfChange.org petition is calling for U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch to investigate the suspicious death of Sandra Bland while in police custody. The police claim Bland took her own life and local District Attorney Elton Mathis handed the investigation back to the Texas State troopers, the same agency that allegedly used excessive force when arresting Bland.
Here’s the email Rashad Robinson and the rest of the ColorOfChange.org team sent out today explaining the situation and calling for Lynch to lead the investigation:

“You just slammed my head to the ground. Do you not even care about that?”

These were some of the last words of 28-year-old Sandra Bland. On Friday, Texas State troopers pulled Sandra over as she was driving to her new job for allegedly not using the turn signals during a lane change. What happened next was all too familiar and terrifying.
