Of the 6,000 migrants gathered in Tijuana just south of the U.S. border near San Diego, more than a third of them (2,267) are being treated for health-related issues, a spokesman for Tijuana's Health Department told Fox News.

I have been trying to raise the awareness of the health implication of Illegal Immigration because there is no vetting.. I still dont understand why the CDC is not being vocal about this...smdh

ReplyDeleteOut of 6,000 people
There are three confirmed cases of tuberculosis, four cases of HIV/AIDS and four separate cases of chickenpox, the spokesman said.
At least 101 migrants have lice and multiple instances of skin infections, the department’s data shows.
To break that down, 1 in 297 people in the US has HIV. In the Caravan, 1 in 1,500 has HIV, It's a shame to allow them into this country - they're likely to catch AIDS here!
There are three cases of tuberculosis. That's one case in 2,000 among the caravan. That doesn't mean they're infectious cases, and TB can be cured with drug therapy that's pretty cheap and available. That's why the US has a TB rate so low that we rarely get immunized against it. Our current rate is something like 3 in 100,000.
There are around 12 million cases of lice a year, almost entirely among school age children. Even though, that means that 1 in 27 people in the US have lice. The rate for the caravan is 1 in 60. They have fewer cases of lice than the US as a whole.
So not only is Elder's statement a lie, his grasp of basic math is kind of bad.
If you need an explanation of the methodology, I took the numbers in the article that you're misquoting and divided that number into six thousand. I similarly went to the CDC's website, looked up each malady, and divided the population of the US by their most recent number.
