Rep. Frederica Wilson had told reporters Trump dismissively said to Sgt. La David Johnson's widow Myeshia that he 'knew what he signed up for' by enlisting, adding that 'when it happens it hurts anyway.'

General Kelly is right, nothing is sacred anymore. It was never the congress woman's job to speak up for what she considered to be insensitive. To me, the congress woman made an ass out of herself.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutlely. The more she speaks out the dumber she appears.
DeleteThe congresswoman hated Pres Trump to begin with. His haters look for any and all opportunities to bad mouth and disrespect him. He is not a well smooth spoken career politician and doesn't speak like one. He was just a businessman. People generally understand these dynamics. But the media who also hates all conservatives will use the fact that he's not well spoken any chance they get!

The wording might not have been the bes, especially when taken out of context. But there is NO doubt in my mind that the intent was 100% respectful and grateful!
ReplyDeleteBosed on someone's background, upbringing and / or perspective, Two people can read the Sam book and come to totally different conclusion.
I am pretty certain that this maybe what happened here. And it's ashame that some are using it for political gain!
How did the actual fallen soldier's wife take it? And I really don't want to know this instant and really have no right to even know
Please let this promptly go away so this family can show their respect and sorrow.
Amen, let it go and don't ask or try to find out the widows feelings or thoughts were. Leaver it and her alone.
DeletePerhaps President Trump meant "framed" rather than fabricated... I think it's just a ridiculous allegation in light of the fact that he was calling to console family members.
ReplyDeleteWhy are they doing this? I am sure he meant to be kind and not disrespectful in any way. Why would he do that? I think they are trying to make him out to be something he is not.
ReplyDeleteFor one thing no one is perfect and to comfort someone is that situation is very difficult especially over the phone when you can't see facial expressions of the speakers. I hurt for the family in their loss but I can't imagine why or how this is something they should be doing at this time. The main point is the President of the United States took the time to call the widow and express his condolences. If it didn't come out the way they thought it should then why couldn't they just let it go and be thankful for the call? And they say he didn't even know the young man's name. I can't imagine that to be the case. I am so sick of our President getting bashed over things that seem like minor issues when there is so much he is trying to do to make our country safe and prosperous. Congress needs to get on the ball and the media needs to start focusing on real news.
there is no way in my mind he would have ever meant disrespect. now i can see him saying something and them taking it the wrong way....as in him saying "he knew what he was signing up for and couragously did it anyways"....never would he have been malicious.
ReplyDeleteJohnson was support and not a Special Forces Qualified Green Beret. The mother was not present.
ReplyDeleteSo your saying you believe Trump was purposefully being mean to this Widow???
ReplyDeleteI don't buy it.
Most probably this Liberal Politician was refining her Political Prostitute skills and influenced this Widow for her own personal gain.
I think Trump's decision to call the lady showed respect for her and her husband. He didn't have to call. But he wanted to do the right thing. I think this congress lady had her own interpretation of what Trump was meaning by what he said. I don't believe for a moment that he called her and in anyway wanted to be disrespectful. He tried to do what was right.
ReplyDeleteMost of African Americans and Latinos hate President Trump. No matter what he does or say.
ReplyDeleteThis is crap
ReplyDeleteSorry, but the fact is that today's services are all volunteers. His father said that he knew what he was signed up for. I believe that ANY special forces person KNOW the risks, otherwise they would not become SPECIAL FORCES SOLDIERS. That said, I am with General Kelly's assessment in his speach yesterday. Shame on the Congresswoman for eaves dropping on the President's conversation. You Madam are a sad example of sickness, just another "rock star" wanna be! An opinion that at least for now, is protected by the Constitution.
