Mexico Warns Citizens After Mother Deported From US

(CNN)Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said Friday night the United States has not been "rounding anyone up," after immigration authorities acknowledged arrests of undocumented migrants across the country this week.

"They're not rounding anyone up," Kelly said at the San Ysidro Port of Entry between San Diego and Tijuana. "The people that ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) apprehend are people who are illegal, and then some."

  1. Guadalupe García de Rayos was convicted in 2009 of felony criminal impersonation (during the Obama administration), and became the subject of a removal order in 2013 (also during the Obama administration)

    "(Her) immigration case underwent review at multiple levels of the immigration court system, including the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the judges held she did not have a legal basis to remain in the US," ICE said in a statement.

    So she committed and was convicted of a felony.
    She had the benefit of the fair court system.
    The deportation order was done long before Trump was even a candidate for president.

    If you or I are convicted of a felony, we can both expect that we will be separated from our families.

    She is being sent to Mexico. You and I would not be able to count on being sent to Mexico after being convicted of a felony.
