CLEVELAND, Ohio – A march headlined by the Rev. Al Sharpton scheduled for the eve of the Republican National Convention has been canceled.
The event's sponsor, The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the Los Angeles-based international organization that provides HIV/AIDS medical care and advocacy, said it has decided to cancel the march in light of Thursday's shooting deaths of five Dallas police officers who were monitoring demonstrations in that city. The group still plans to hold a free program and concert featuring the band, The Roots and other musicians, celebrities and speakers inside the Wolstein Center on Cleveland State University's campus. The event is dubbed, "Keep the Promise."
