When I finally viewed the video myself all I saw was an officer doing just what was necessary to remove the uncooperative student from her chair and take control of her. He did not throw her to the ground, and he did not toss her across the floor. He did not punch or kick her, and he did not twist her limbs. If there is another way to remove a resisting and uncooperative student from her chair and the classroom – as requested by her teacher – I don’t know of it.
I know it is shocking to many people to see the use of force against another. But if it is justified, then it is not wrong to do so. All the girl had to do was stand up and walk out of class. It was her choice to resist and require the use of force against her.
Please recall the famous quote by Winston Churchill: “We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.” In the classroom setting, our children are able to attend school in safety because school resource officers are there to protect them. We have no basis to complain when a school resource officer has to use force to remove a disruptive student from a classroom. The schools exist to educate those who wish to learn. We should do all we can to insure a safe learning environment for those students.
The use of force was justified and not excessive. isn’t paying very close attention to what’s been happening on the chessboard.”

Amen to that.
ReplyDeleteA district attorney giving a light to a cop who used violence against a non violent offender. What a shock.
ReplyDeletehis force 10/10. ask yourself: If you were able bodied, could you use 7/10 scale of force to remove the student?
ReplyDeleteIdiot
ReplyDeleteYou think the use of force is justified!? I challenge you to take a walk thru Ferguson as a black man and then let me know what you think about these racist bullies who (and this is just some) get into the job to rough up and execute minorities. I know you won't let this past your censors since you need to approve it, but that same officer has multiple pending investigations levied against him since 2003 for unfairly targeting African American students and accusing them of gang-ties. How about you nut the F@ck up and start standing up for those that have no say, that have no power, those that look to influential men bc of their wisdom and ability to DO the RIGHT THING!
ReplyDeleteYou are one confused individual, this is not war time or a combat zone. This a student in a class room option are many compared to his choice. Over use of force against a teenager is totally uncalled for. The father should have put that officer in his grave before sunset of that day. Standup America we are people not slaves to be abused at will of any police officer. Strike force four time greater, all is my opinion
