Weak, Outmaneuvered GOP Leadership Propels #DonaldTrump

By Larry Elder , Aug 25, 2015

Donald Trump is striking a nerve because "angry" republicans feel not only economically behind in the weak "recovery." They feel let down--even deceived--by weak, feckless and outsmarted GOP leadership.

After voting republicans majorities in both the House and the Senate, republican voters expected to see brakes slammed on Obama's reckless agenda of bigger government and dangerous appeasement foreign policy.

Instead, Obama and his party govern as if Scott Brown never won the "Ted Kennedy seat"--and as if the republican victories of 2012 and 2014 never happened.

Some questions:

How did the unpopular Obamacare--after Brown's Massachusetts senate victory--navigated by clever Democrat leaders, still get rammed down our throats without a single republican vote?

How did the Iran deal become an executive initiative--not a treaty-therefore needing no Congressional approval?

How does a supposed "strict constructionist," Chief Justice John Roberts, a GWBush appointee, vote twice to save Obamacare?

How, through executive orders, does Obama shield as much as 80% of illegal aliens from deportation?

How does Obama preside over the worst economic recovery in our lifetime--with seemingly little yelling and screaming from the GOP leaders?

A lot of voters feel that unless you're gay, black, feminist, Hispanic or transgender, nobody cares.  This is why Donald Trump has risen and won't go away any time soon.
