Guest Columnist: Trump Need Not Defend Himself Over 'Obama's A Muslim' Comment

Let me add my two cents re Trump not remonstrating with the man who said President Obama was not born in America and was a Muslim. 

The man’s remark was made in a noisy town hall setting.  The only reason we now know exactly what he said is that it is being repeatedly replayed on TV, amplified, and with subtitles.  If the audio was played only once, at normal volume, and without subtitles, no one would even be sure what was said.  And certainly no one would have made a big deal out of it. 

But even assuming Trump heard the man’s question, he is under no obligation to correct every misstatement made by someone asking a question in a town hall setting.  Plus, it was not necessary for him to do so to give his answer.  The basic question was - what are we going to do about Muslim terrorist training camps.  Whether Obama is a Muslim or was not born in the USA is not relevant to the answer to that question. 

So once again Megan Kelly is making a big thing out of nothing.  I have lost all respect for her.  In fact, I have no respect for anyone making a big deal out of this.  It is nothing.  They are simply using it for a cheap shot against Trump. 

Finally, after 48 years as a lawyer, I am not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that Obama was born in Hawaii.  The basis for my doubt is that he refused to release his birth certificate until Trump made his million dollar offer.  And even then, the original birth certificate was not presented to forensic document examiners to see if it was genuine.  It was simply displayed. 

Here is what should be done to prove the Obama birth certificate is genuine.  Forensic document examiners must be given access to the entire birth certificate file system containing the purported birth certificate of Obama.  They must be allowed to examine birth certificates issued prior to Obama’s and birth certificates following Obama’s.  They would look for inconsistencies or irregularities between Obama’s purported birth certificate and the ones preceding and following it.  They must also be given physical custody of Obama’s birth certificate for a detailed forensic examination.  If this is done and the forensic examiners say the birth certificate is genuine, I will accept that.  But unless this is done, I am justified in my doubts about Obama being born in the USA.
