Obama's Dismal Recovery

By Larry Elder , Aug 25, 2015

Most Americans say we are on the wrong track economically. With this lousy recovery, it's easy to see why.

President Obama has raised taxes, including on the middle class after promising not to. Debt has doubled, with a brand new and costly entitlement called Obamacare. The federal reserve, through so called quantitative easing, has in essence printed money like a counterfeiter.

Despite acknowledging that our current entitlement programs--social security, Medicare and Medicaid--are "unsustainable," Obama's done nothing to reform them. Instead, he's stepped on the gas.

Over 70% of the federal budget goes to entitlements and service on our ever-increasing debt. With most of what's left dedicated to defense, what politicians spend their time squabbling over amounts to crumbs.
