Trump Thinks Sterling ‘Got Set Up by a Very, Very Bad Girlfriend’--Trump ought to know

By Evan McMurry, Apr. 28, 2014, Mediaite.com

On his weekly Monday morning Fox & Friends appearance, Donald Trump said that Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling had been “set up” by his girlfriend on the call in which he is allegedly heard making multiple racist remarks, a call that now potentially jeopardizes his ownership of Clippers.

“He got set up by a very, very bad girlfriend, let’s face it,” Trump said. “She’s called the ‘girlfriend from hell.’”

Trump went on to claim that Sterling’s mistress, V. Stiviano, “baited” Sterling into the remarks.

“She was baiting him and she’s a terrible human being,” he said. “The way she led him along, I mean — he should know if he were there, if he was with it, he would know after one or two of those questions that she was asking that there’s something going on here. You look at the way he’s being baited, just constantly being baited. I read part of the transcript and it was ridiculous. You sort of pick that up very quickly.”

Trump did call Sterling’s comments “despicable,” and said the NBA likely had “no choice” but to expel him from the league.

Stiviano confirmed the authenticity of the call on Sunday, but denied having given the audio to TMZ.
